rhythmgtr5
is that In Utero white or cream?
mister
gumbercules - did being mean to a stranger on the internet make you feel better about yourself? mot - i buy records so i can listen to them. as soon as they showed up this morning, i opened them, threw away the plastic & advertisement inserts, and started listening to them. rhythmgtr5 - like a cream or yellow i guess. whatever color you would consider the album cover. gumbercules
i was just messing with you, man. i agree with you: tear off that plastic and listen to that shit
burntwolf
where did you preorder them from?
mister
i pre-ordered from musicdirect.com the other day after being told by ORG that these releases were online exclusive. typically i prefer to buy from my local record store.
chiefwahoo
Tempted to buy Nevermind on color. I have too many copies as it is, but I'd like to have one on color that isn't a boot.
iamafreeman
i'm pretty sure that the colored vinyl exclusive to Music Direct but the black vinyl presses should be available in stores. i saw Nevermind at Amoeba and i bought In Utero and Unplugged at another shop. gumbercules
soundstagedirect says they have the colored ones
llamason56
i have an in utero on black and i believe it was part of the back in black reissue series and is the albini mix. the only differences i can hear in the albini mix is that in heart-shaped box and all apologies the guitars are a lot louder but that's about it. the unplugged record looks so sick on red imo
burntwolf
elusivedisc has the color ones. i preordered ages ago. they must have had some free priority shipping deal going on but now it says that doesn't apply to preorders, which is weak. but, whatever. they package stuff insanely well. i got the notice they were shipped today. It's part of a long list of running jokes on here. I play mine too.
timsimmons
Any word on the new In Utero pressing? Is it the Albini or Litt mix?
jblahmaster
The in utero repress is the albini mix of the album. I purchased it yesterday at the record store, also it is on yellow vinyl.
mclz
nope from what i understand it's called "Flannel and Leather Brought Us Together" Weird, might have to check it out. Looks like it's on Amazon used for like $2. did you ever buy this?
iamafreeman
In Utero uses the Abini mix (with Scott Litt's mixes on Heart Shaped Box and All Apologies), just like the CD.

mattstrike
So, what do folks think of these remasters? Personally, I think they are damn near perfect - nice mids, not too bloated in the low end, no sibilance. Compared to the the "320" remasters, they sound more organic and true to what I'd expect from them in the studio. The "320" remasters are a bit too boomy bass-wise for my taste. Listened to Nevermind again tonight thru my headphones and man, it felt like I was hearing the album for the first time - such a great experience… goosebumps!! I dont collect nirvana so this might be a dumb question but are any of those bootlegs or are they all official?
mac1
All official Sub Pop pressings, no boots. All the colors are represented but numberous color variations abound.
suburbanargyle
Impressive! The only old one I own is the 1992 Australian tour pressing on yellow vinyl (with the yellow cover), I'd like to find all of the Waterfront pressings but they are quite pricey.
