Ex-wife's family always dominated the holiday gatherings, so I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to cook a big elaborate meal again.

Here's my menu -- all home made, of course:

Traditional Roasted Turkey

Sausage, Apricot, and Sage Stuffing

Sweet Potato Casserole

Sauteed Green beans and Onions w/ Bacon

Spiced Red Wine Cranberry Sauce

Jalapeno Corn Bread

Pumpkin-Maple Pie

I'm so excited! Can't wait to make soup with the carcass!

Turkey

Green Bean casserole topped with homemade onion rings

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Mashed Yam Casserole (sweet potatoes are not, contrary to belief, the orange ones, those are yams)

Brussell Sprouts w/ Pancetta and Fingerling potato

Stuffing

Homemade Cranberry sauce

Pumpkin Pie

Chocolate Malt Cheesecake

Chess Pie

Noodle Kugel (yiddish noodle pudding)

I can't go home for Thanksgiving. I'm legitimately bummed. A friend of mine and my roommate might pull a meal together on Wednesday night. But I'm damn determined to make myself a meal even if I will be eating it alone on Thursday. A lot of this will probably be leftover from Wednesday night if that happens.

Tofurky baked with a cherry sauce or an orange soy sauce...haven't decided yet.

Beer*

Mashed potatoes (if my roommate makes them they will be her special recipe. If I make them they will likely just be pretty basic).

Beer

Green bean casserole. Straight up the way grandma makes it, no frills yet delicious.

Beer

Yams with the brown sugar and possibly vegan marshmallows if I can find them.

Beer

Cranberry sauce...straight from the can. With the can shape and all.

Beer

Pumpkin pie

Beer

Beer

Beer

*Beer may be substituted for Woodchuck Fall Cider at any given point of the evening.

For the last few years, my family has done "Thanksgiving Around The Wooooooooooorld!" One year we made Chinese food, last year was Polish, another was Greek, this year we're doing Italian. We're making lasagna and some other stuff that I'm not sure of. Most of it isn't really authentic, but its still fun and beats the hell out of the same turkey and stuffing every year.

This year my family is kinda going their separate ways for thanksgiving so my gf and i are meeting my parents in Savannah, Ga for a couple days. My mom got reservations at Paula Dean's restaurant for thanksgiving so we will be feasting on some southern foods... Hope its as good as i expect it to be.

I just got a nice delivery from a local radio station, it is a sweet potato/pecan pie and looks/smells fucking dope. Very nice unexpected holiday gift.
