tim
A friend told me that the new Ted Leo LP comes with access to the digital files so you don't have to buy both formats. Does anybody know if this is true? I looked at the LP for sale at No Idea and Interpunk but don't see any indication. I was going to order both CD and LP, but obviously don't want to do that if it's not necessary. This would be my first Ted Leo CD so I don't even know if that's the best place to start. chiefwahoo
It does indeed come with a code for a download of the tracks, not to mention it includes 5 bonus tracks. I think it's safe to say it comes with all copies of the vinyl, so get on it. You are missing out like you wouldn't believe. The new LP has a little more variation in styles from song to song than the last two albums. But you need to own it as well as Shake the Sheets, Hearts of Oak, and The Tyranny of Distance. And seeing him live is ten times better. The motherfucking man, indeed!!
tim
Cool, I'm sold. I'll order it from No Idea. They're always the cheapest, to the best I can tell. I think I'll need to sample more of his old stuff. The couple songs I heard off old albums didn't do much for me.
Guest conoley
Shake the Sheets was my intro and it was great. I love it when labels put digital downloads into the mix.

robotnerd
i think hearts of oak is the only ESSENTIAL ted leo record. i also think every label should allow downloads with vinyl purchase.
scottheisel
I'm so proud that I coined the phrase "the motherfucking man" when referring to Ted Leo. It's nice to know I'll leave a legacy after I'm dead and buried.
tim
I realized my girlfriend has Shake The Sheets so I listened to it. Wasn't as impressed as I was when I heard the latest one.
skumbucket
"shake the sheets" is the best. i always thought the songs on "hearts of oak" were overly long and kind of boring. except "the high party" and "tell balgeary, bulgary's dead." and occasionally "where have all the rude boys gone?" oakland
No dis to Ted as a solo entity, but Chisel was awesome. I have never got the vibe from him that I did from that band.
