fueledbymike
The $10 'Spike your Juice' kit http://www.spikeyourjuice.com/ 1. Pick your juice (minimum sugar of 20g/serving, no pre-refrigerated juices, no artificially sweetened juices, no unfiltered juices) 2. Spike your juice (pour packet into juice) 3. Seal with included Airlock After 48 hrs start sampling * If satisfied, close bottle with Rubber Stopper, refrigerate and enjoy * for a stronger and dryer taste with increased alcohol content, re-seal with Airlock and Rubber Stopper and continue storing at room temperature until satisfied Anyone know if this thing works at alll. seems sketchy but if it does it would be real badass! daniel
I don't think badass is the word. Badass would be if you sent your 12 year old to school with one of these in his Transformers lunch box.
goraiders
i tried to make wine out of juice once but then got too freaked out after trying some to keep going.
zac
Doesn't most real juice ferment if you leave it for a while anyway? It seems like this just speeds up the process.
batman
lol it's probably just a packet of yeast and an airtight seal. simple fermentation.
barrettrecords
lol it's probably just a packet of yeast and an airtight seal. simple fermentation. Hahah, I'm sure that's what it is.
flood
i was gonna say... yeah its badass if you like paying $10 for a normally 10 cent package of yeast. or you can just go buy a $10 bottle of dubra or graves XXX and skip the hassle
saxamaphone
Is it really that hard to mix kool-aid and Gem Clear?
sgoodcore
Making beer is more fun and better tasting I'd bet.
vedant
This says it can do it in 48 hours. Don't most fermentation processes take a week or so before the mixture actually becomes alcoholic?
dreamover
looks like a pyramid scheme.
Fartcat
My buddy got this brew your own beer kit from some party store and it tasted like shit. If you're hurting for cash and want to get drunk and have $10 dollars get a couple Olde English 40's or a nice shitty bottle of wine. kurtmanner
I was interested in exactly what this was so I read pretty much the whole site. I also figured it couldn't just yeast because that would make such an unappealing product that no one would drink it/no one would buy it. So: Ingredients: Our proprietary yeast blend, organic evaporated cane juice, emulsifier I'm not surprised really, but at least it does contain more than just yeast. Kind of cool though, it's inspired by a European beverage made with fresh pressed grape juice and yeast. As far as value goes, it's an excellent price. For $10 + about $4 for a large bottle of juice you end up with 64 oz. of a drink that is about 2-3% higher abv than most wines. I still maintain minimal interest in trying it.
