xxmartinxx
I just put on the record that I received today and am super bummed to hear continuous surface noise from before the music starts until nearly all the way through the first song. It's quite a bit of noise and it makes it unlistenable. I tried to clean the record and the stylus with no change to the noise. I'm so bummed. I sold my original copy in anticipation of this release. Anyone else have this problem or did I just get a bum copy?
fourfourtwo
Hope mine isn't like this.... Contact Magic Bullet to see if you could switch it out. Is yours blue or black?
xxmartinxx
It's on blue. I looked at the record under a bright light and I can see tiny divots in the groves of the first song. :-/
fourfourtwo
Bummer. Hope it gets sorted out!
icecream
I've had the same problem w/the blue I just thought maybe it was my turntable

icecream
Well yeah but the thing is I have a shitty turntable, an ion lol so I didn't know if that factored into the problem.
xxmartinxx
Well, if it's through the first song until like the last 10 seconds and then fine for the next song, it's probably the pressing.
icecream
Yeah thats the exact same problem I remember when I had first put it on & went to check if the needle needed to be cleaned. Quite an irritating noise though for sure
xxmartinxx
Since you have an Ion turntable, could you record the noise you hear? Just like the first 10 seconds?
richspeedowax
is it a united press.
icecream
Since you have an Ion turntable, could you record the noise you hear? Just like the first 10 seconds? I could but I will be blunt I'm way to fucking lazy to do that. not only that but i've never attempted to use it for that function any way. just a cheap turntable
richspeedowax
i gotta green day record with a whizzy sounding surf noise and i got some glow in the dark vinyl that sounds like its been pressed on gravel.its gotta be the pressing ..shame
dreamover
That's why I never get rid of my OG's! Too much of a gamble for a record that already sounds great!
troymess
That's a bummer if it was a pressing issue and Brent didn't catch it on the test press. I saw Brent had like 400 more orders to ship and I haven't received mine yet, so I'm assuming I'm in that pile. Once I get mine (getting both the blue and the black), I'll let ya know if I get the same issue or not.
httran
Hopefully the black doesn't have the same issue.
kittenmittons
Ffffffuuuu I was really looking forward to this press. Still waiting on mine but I'm about to move so my table isn't hooked up and I won't be able to test it right away
smailtronic
Looks like my blue copy just jumped to the top of my "listen to" list. Hopefully I can spin it tonight.
smailtronic
Well, if it's through the first song until like the last 10 seconds and then fine for the next song, it's probably the pressing. My blue copy has this same problem. There's a fair bit of surface noise during the first track on the B-side, as well. Boo.
jordyedge
Same problem here. Bummer. However, I will still support Magic Bullet all day. Solid label, and I've ordered tons of times without a single problem. I can look past a little noise, no problem.
scully
Anyone try a black copy yet? I was considering placing an order for it.

xxmartinxx
Anyone try a black copy yet? I was considering placing an order for it. I would imagine that the black copies will suffer from the same problem since they're probably pressed from the same plates.

Solid label, and I've ordered tons of times without a single problem. I can look past a little noise, no problem. I've also had several successful orders from them in the past, and, yes, surface noise isn't the end of the world, but it's still a problem. Doesn't matter how big or small a label is, they should never be given a pass on the audio quality of their releases.
fourfourtwo
Listened to my black copy the second it showed up on my doorstep... no noise! Wooo.
