controlthebleeding
Punk rock politics are stupid and I won't say anything that hasn't been said before so I'm going just leave everyone with a quote from Jeff Ott (if you don't know who he is take a punk rock history class, you dolt!)." Why (did my band break up)? As much as Scott or some others would like you to believe that I make tons of money off this band, the simple fact is that it has always been a money loser. Sure I make money off a tour or i get royalties a few times a year. It doesn't even come close to the amount of money and time spent maintaining it. I am no longer in a position of continuing to lose money. i have kids and am in five figure debt. By the way that nice little "ethic" WE created for punk rock that says you can't make a living off of it means that people who have kids and people who don't live with their parents and aren't wealthy can't do a band. That's classism." nice quote, way to take it back ol' school....jeff ott is awesome and crimpshrine and fifteen were too...and he's one hell of a nice guy, probably one of the nicest guys i met of any touring act coming through town. He is a great example of a person who has done so much for his community, and his charitable work through non-profit organizations, as well as given back to his scene. This is a man whose actions speak louder than any words Against Me! has ever sang about. Hopefully AM! will follow in his footsteps and show the "naysayers" what's up by practicing what they preach, and prove everyone wrong other than the occasional show for charity. Only time will tell at this point, as their popularity slowly grows.

kyle
Jeff Ott raped a woman.Sayin'. He was a junkie at the time and didn't realize until later on that he actually committed the crime (if I'm remembering the details correctly). He fessed up about it and went back to the woman and helped her out. That doesn't mean what he did wasn't wrong, but he accepted resposnibility for his actions and did what he could to make it 'right'. That also doesn't mean that his points are any less valid. controlthebleeding
Jeff Ott raped a woman.Sayin'. Good Point, but he also has made mention of the rape at certain shows (including 1 that i saw) on the subject. And made note that he was trying to make up for it ever since. The guy was shooting up at like age 12. Ok, that's an exaggeration, more like 14. Hanging out with him the 1st time when he specifically asked where he could score drugs, and the last time (and about 50 pounds heavier) where we just hung on a bench and bullshitted about life, it's crazy how much he had changed. MInd you the guy can be pretty crass and straightforward, but his words are sincere. What he has done doesn't make up for the past, but its a start for a better future for everyone. He acknowledges what the things he did were wrong. He doesnt make excuses and has taken full responsibility. and has since tried to do everything by the book, and become a better human being. In this instance, maybe he should be given a break. and look at all the other stuff he's done to make this world a better place by his volunteer time at local organizations including the battered women's shelter. So i say someone should invite JEFF OTT for a milkshake as well. jus' sayin' (that was not meant as sarcasm, i say that as well)

Not trying to start an arguement, I'm just sayin' dude. Jeff isn't alone in making the posts referring back to that day, Scott does it too (and its the reference of his "12/18 Never Forget"). At this point, I could care less what happened. That was stupid internet drama and neither party should ever make mention of it again, becuase its really ridiculous at this point.
