drabley
A bit of a travesty for such a board, I know, but I'm feeling kind of "meh" towards music lately. Haven't listened to anything beyond classic rock radio and live jazz shows in months. I don't know why this is, but I presume it is because I've gotten bored with it. Or maybe I'm just getting old. pastepunk
I go through ups and downs with music fairly often. Nothing iTunes DJ usually can't fix relatively quick.
jimmythescumbag
Haven't listened to anything beyond classic rock radio and live jazz shows in months. I tend to be the same way, at least when driving. I rock NPR or classic rock/oldies during the day, and jazz at night, unless I am listening to mp3s I have on my phone. As for new tuneage, check out Thee Oh Sees if you are into psych/garage stuff: http://www.myspace.com/ohsees
dynamitekid
I used to get like this where I just didn't want to listen to music but I listen to talk radio a lot now so that has helped things.

adammuzzy
i'm not sure if i'm actually getting bored with music, because i'm still listening to it all the time, but i do find myself paying attention to the music world less. some of my favorite bands have come out with new albums that i didn't even know were coming out. just looking at that list, i had no idea there were new off with their heads and end of a year albums out. kurtz
When I get in ruts like this I usually try to explore a new genre. It's always refreshing finding things you like in a genre you know nothing or little about. That list has a few good records in it, but it's missing some of my absolute favorites from this year. Night Birds - s/t 7" Slang / Mind Eraser - split 7" Emeralds - Does It Look Like I'm Here LP Kriegshög - s/t LP
shanehennessey
There's tons of great music being made right now, you just have to be willing to adjust to new genres and sounds. It took me a while to get into a lot of "blog" type bands and leave the typical hardcore/metal/punk sound I was used too but I've found more new and exciting artists in the last year than I have in a while. drabley, if you have any interest in electronic/dance/disco stuff, my friends are doing very exciting things in New Orleans right now. I can PM u a link if you're interested. solution: find friends who have solid but entirely different musical tastes than you.. hang out with them for extended amounts of time letting them make all musical selections. Didn't see this originally but this is exactly what happened to me.

blackswanns
Also I like to go back and listen to bands that either I didn't like before or just didn't get into previously and it years back and it opens up a whole new area of music to explore.
