thebambino
any suggestions? I have heard that the black US press is quiet and dead sounding which would be awful for such a upbeat record- Any suggestions? Even better anyone want to sell me one? lol

bgdesign
I love my 180g. The German reissue (on green) I wasn't impressed with. IMO.

moonbeams
I guess this thread is poking fun of what I wrote. The 180g sounded lifeless to me. I switched to the German on clear green. Very lively.

franco
ugh, the yellow & light blue bootlegs are the worst sounding copies you can buy.

brammyg
I have the 180g reissue, I think it sounds just dandy!
franco
the original dookie lp's were mastered by stan ricker, so they sound far superior to the recent reissues.
GradedOnACurve
Where could I get a green german copy?
tokyochaser
From what I understand there is also german black and pink pressings, or are those bootlegs?
lbw87
the marble one above is a legit promo press there's another translucent green promo press that is also legit the usa pink and green pressed in the 90's are legit of course theres german and usa black pressings from the 90's usa repress on 180Gram a few years ago is the best sounding one in my opinion the german colors are all bootlegs and sound like complete garbage - opaque green, yellow, light pink, red, blue i pretty much own them all so i know how each sound...see collection in signature

I was really unhappy with the way my 180g sounded. It just sounded lifeless, like a shell of the album. I compared it to the German green and it sounded like two different recordings. My German pressing is electric and alive.

thomasj182
I bought one from Hot Topic a few months ago and it sounds like garbage! Flimsy vinyl, lots of cracks and pops, I love that HT does all these represses but the vinyl quality from them is very shitty!

They buy vinyl from labels to sell in their stores.
