vardcore
LATTERMAN records 1/1 super rare! I have reference lacquers, cut in 2011 by Lucky Lacquers. There is ONE for each album: "Turn up..." "No Matter..." These were used as a reference to see if we liked how they sounded. They sound good, but we thought they could be tweaked to be even better, so... the "real" versions of the records will sound a little different. So, these reference lacquers are either amazing or silly. Your call. For anyone that does not know, these are heavy. They are lacquer-coated metal. They can be played, but if you play them over and over, they will eventually wear out. Hit me up with offers. You can see what I am looking for (trade), otherwise I will take your fantastic, vast bags of cash and put a down payment on the secret island hideaway. vardcore
remember.. unlike records you store lacquers laying flat! Actually, I store them at an angle with a dying silverfish tucked inside. Oh wait, that was just the Leatherface one. Doh.
xgrantx
I despise these bastards. They are always in the least expected place waving hello with their little ass tentacles.
vardcore
At least they are squishy! I approved the LP jacket proofs today! Lacquers en route to the pressing plant!
refused
remember.. unlike records you store lacquers laying flat!excuse my ignorance, but is this true? I have a screeching weasel laquer reference, I love how heavy they feel
xgrantx
It's true. They are more fluid than normal records so if stored upright the coating will slowly start to move down. Ref lacquers are very much temporary. Only good for a handful of listens.
vardcore
They are mostly for completists / super fans who need a little something extra. That said, I have a JAWBREAKER / SAMIAM lacquer, stored in Florida for ? years now, in with my other records and it appears to be fine. Speaking of which... anyone want that one, haha?
