time for some file-sharing goodness!

New Jersey scene extravaganza!

New Direxion - New Direxion: http://www.divshare.com/download/4190712-a2b

- they were a local "ska" band that tried to reinvent themselves multiple times and finally ended up calling it quits. i'm not sure how many people outside of those in jersey will know who they are, but it's actually not a bad cd. sometimes it's too immature, but the songs are great.

RIYL: saves the day, suicide machines, catch 22

haha, I have their other two cds. It was funny seeing them play with ska bands still even though they lost the ska and then the horns entirely

Part 2 of the Mostly Toronto / Greater Toronto Area (but all Canadian) bands mega-uploads.

Lucky Number Seven - Wasted Times

Link - http://www.divshare.com/download/4197899-cd7

Sounds Like - The Suicide Machines with Jordan from NFG on vocals (i guess)

These guys were my favorite band when I was 13. I think if they stuck at it a little more, they would have probably gotten a decent following. They opened for Against All Authority and Dillinger Four, among others. This is their only full length, and by the time it came out, the band already felt it wasn't really representative of their sound, since all of the songs except for one (My Best Friend) were written with by old guitar player. I still have their banner, which I won in a fixed raffle at their last show.

Prime Cuts - Five Star, My Best Friend, That's Right!

Lucky Number Seven - Demo 2000

Link - http://www.divshare.com/download/4197900-81e

The songs on this demo are a much better representation of what the band actually sounded like.

Prime Cuts - All Work No Play, It's Not Over

Murder Culture - Demo

Link - http://www.divshare.com/download/4197901-8c5

I'm almost positive that these are the only recordings these guys ever did, which is a shame. They were a 5 or 6 piece ska/reggae band with a hip-hop vocalist. Song 5 in this could be a huuuuuge summertime radio jam.

Prime Cuts - Track 04, Track 05

Out Of Hand - Canadian Gothic

Link - http://www.divshare.com/download/4197902-591

MySpace - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=64489543

Sounds Like - Slayer, Raised Fist, Gorrilla Biscuits, SNFU, The Dayglo Abortions, DRI, Corrosion Of Conformity, Zeke, Entombed, Sick Of It All, Agnostic Front (from their myspace)

"Out Of Hand formed in (or at least the bulk of it) 1993 when three highschool friends started a band together. After some experimentation musically and a few member changes they formed into OUT Of HAND. Hardcore partying and intense music is what these guys are all about. In 1997 they were signed to a multi-album deal with Raw Energy Records Toronto Canada and immediately started touring their first release Canadian Gothic which has gone on to become a southern Ontario punk rock favourite. With sold out shows on their first tour in BC, Satckachewan, Manitoba, Ontario & Quebec and sharing the stage with such bands as Propagandhi, The Dayglo Abortions, Deisel Boy, The Nobody's, SNFU, DOA, Trigger Happy & Raised Fist they immediately propelled themselves to one of the top Thrash/ Hardcore bands in Canada. Now after a 4 year hiatus they are back with avengence and are still holding thier own against all of the current music of today. Beware they are coming to a city near you so get ready to cause some shit."

If that didn't make you want to download this, you probably won't like this band. But, if you like fast, heavy punk bands, you should love it. This album is a classic in my circle of friends.

Prime Cuts - Grade 9 Slut, Livers In A Dangerous Time, Ilsethetra

I had another album for this post, but a quick double-check revealed that you can still buy it online as a digital download apparently. In my next post, I'll be bringing the first two releases from Ontario's punk gods, The Fullblast.

This isn't supposed to be a flame or anything, but is it really that hard to believe that I actually own the album and downloaded a version that I saw was a "Limited Edition" with an extra track? Or do you just assume that everyone who has mp3's is a dirty thief?

Not trying to flame you either, but the point is, outside of someone putting it on a mix CD for you, there is pretty much no other way for that mislabeled song to have ended up on your computer than for you to have illegally downloaded it. Had there actually been a limited-edition CD, then you would've been stealing the song from American Football and Polyvinyl; since it's someone else's song mislabeled, you stole from them instead. What I don't understand is why people who steal music have such a hard time fessing up.

Copyright infringement =/ stealing

You need to get your facts straight homeboi!

Remember when you infringed the copyright of my advance copy of that Alkaline Trio album and then let a whole lot of other people infringe its copyright, which then pretty much let the whole damn internet infringe its copyright three months before its release date? THAT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME!
