amsterdamned
Will have the 2 original Crime In Stereo demos up when I get home from work, along with whatever else I can find. Crime In Stereo-First Demo http://www.mediafire.com/?zlx1d8w1dlu Tracklist 01. Tapemarks and Brakelights 02. Propaganda Daily 03. To The Point I don't know if this demo was ever officially released, but to my knowledge, it is the first three songs the band recorded. I could be wrong on this though. Crime In Stereo-Demo http://www.mediafire.com/?wfx3ywl949a Tracklist 01. Play It Loud, Fuckers 02. The Return Of... 03. If You Think We're Talking About You...We Are 04. Here's To Things Gone Wrong To my knowledge, this is the demo the band recorded and actually sold at shows and such. Tracks 1, 2, and 4 are demo versions of songs that appeared on the band's first full length, Explosives And The Will To Use Them. Track 2 was only on this demo, though it was "officially" released on CIS' Love 7", as a bonus track. Love itself was a reissue of the band's The Contract EP. thesupervillain
Thanks for the awesome info about illegal downloads, but I hope that was directed at the person who uploaded the file and not the person who was trying to help out with some info about it. Regardless, I can assure you this uh, is American Football. It's taken from a show at the Fireside Bowl in Chicago on 04/03/99. There's a little audience noise between songs, but it's definitely listenable. I'd give the overall sound quality a 3.5 out of 5. swank
the Get Up Kids - Guilt Show Demos http://www.mediafire.com/?1byyngmcnbi Upon the release of "Guilt Show" there was a "secret" website set up (linked only from the CD) for people who bought the album, where you could stream these demo versions, along with explanations by the band. The website has long since been taken down. "While you were sleeping" & "Take The Fall" in particular are total gems, as they're unreleased songs, that contain a chorus or another part that made it to the album via another song entirely. It's a cool look at the demoing process, and alot of the acoustic demos play like a lost New Amsterdams album. Enjoy! 1. Man of Conviction (Acoustic Demo) 2. The One You Want (Robbie's House Demo) 3. Never Be Alone (Piano Demo) 4. Wouldn't Believe it (Robbie's House Demo) 5. Holy Roman (Acoustic Demo) 6. Holy Roman (Live at the Lodge Demo) 7. Martyr Me (Demo 1) 8. Martyr Me (Acoustic Demo) 9. Martyr Me ("While You Were Sleeping" original demo) 10. Martyr Me (Live at the Lodge Demo) 11. How Long is Too Long (Scott Litt demo) 12. Sick in Her Skin (Robbie's House Demo) 13. In Your Sea ("Take the Fall" Original Demo) 14. In Your Sea (Robbie's House Demo - Vocal 1) 15. In Your Sea (Robbie's House Demo - Vocal 2) 16. Sympathy (Acoustic Demo) 17. Dark Night of the Soul (Piano Demo) 18. Is There a Way Out (Robbie's House Demo) 19. Conversation (Robbie's House Demo) Bonus I'll Catch You (Acoustic) Lost in the Light Overdue (Ed Rose Mix) Send us a saint Walking on a Wire (Ed Rose Mix) Wish You Were Here (Demo)
mediocore
Action League - Action League (EP) and Interrupt This Program (LP) Link: http://www.divshare.com/download/4196755-ae8 (46.8 mb) Action League was a power-pop band from Long Beach (CA) that formed after the breakup of mid-90's ska act, Suburban Rhythm (another great band that featured Action League's vocalist, drummer and keyboardist). They were around from 1995-99 and used to open for a lot of now-famous Orange County ska/punk bands like Reel Big Fish, Rx Bandits, etc. You may also recognize them from a few of those Hey, Brother... comps Vegas Records was putting out in the late 90's. From what I remember, they released two or three 7", an EP, and an LP. Dennis (the lead vocalist of Action League/Suburban Rhythm) currently plays bass in BlowUpBlow (http://www.myspace.com/blowupblow) and Free Moral Agents (http://www.myspace.com/freemoralagents). mclz
time for some file-sharing goodness!New Jersey scene extravaganza! New Direxion - New Direxion: http://www.divshare.com/download/4190712-a2b - they were a local "ska" band that tried to reinvent themselves multiple times and finally ended up calling it quits. i'm not sure how many people outside of those in jersey will know who they are, but it's actually not a bad cd. sometimes it's too immature, but the songs are great. haha i remember new direxion then they got rid of the ska and called themselves new jersey panic, me and my friends didn't like it and always called them nj pancake i remember their old singer looking like the dell guy

This isn't supposed to be a flame or anything, but is it really that hard to believe that I actually own the album and downloaded a version that I saw was a "Limited Edition" with an extra track? Or do you just assume that everyone who has mp3's is a dirty thief? Not trying to flame you either, but the point is, outside of someone putting it on a mix CD for you, there is pretty much no other way for that mislabeled song to have ended up on your computer than for you to have illegally downloaded it. Had there actually been a limited-edition CD, then you would've been stealing the song from American Football and Polyvinyl; since it's someone else's song mislabeled, you stole from them instead. What I don't understand is why people who steal music have such a hard time fessing up.

thesupervillain
Mostly Toronto / Greater Toronto Area (but all Canadian) bands mega-upload posts to follow. I'm not sure how many people who aren't from this area and don't know these bands will appreciate this, so I've tried to give a link to a MySpace page wherever possible, or at least a comparison to a few other similar bands. Alexisonfire - The Math Sheets Demo Link - http://www.divshare.com/download/4197277-4b7 "Alexisonfire's first demo, 3 songs, 2 of which you all know. This was ripped from a CD-R which is why the bitrate is so low. It was never pressed, so suck it up." 01. the philosophical significance of shooting my sister in the face, an essay by james secord 02. counterparts and number them 03. little girls pointing and laughing Always Outnumbered - Until Tomorrow (Members of The Video Dead, The St. Alvia Cartel, Silverstein, The Reason) Link - http://www.divshare.com/download/4197281-fc0 MySpace - http://www.myspace.com/alwaysoutnumbered Sounds Like - Grade, Jersey, Hot Water Music, Knapsack, The Get Up Kids (from their myspace) These guys were way ahead of their time, unfortunately. I would say they're an "emo" band with a heavy lean towards Lifetime / early Saves The Day style punk. Quite a few fast songs, but lots of quiet parts too. The songs Never Let Go and Home on their myspace are from this album and are pretty indicative of the rest of the album. Chapter One - The Fields Of Eternal Eyes Link - http://www.divshare.com/download/4197287-ae1 Sounds Like - Third-Wave Ska I only saw these guys twice, and the first time I saw them I had the two songs they put on their website memorized, so I was singing along and they ended up giving me a free copy of the album because of it. But, I had already bought one. haha. There's a cover of Greatest Hits by Sublime on this album, as well as a decent acoustic song. If you're a fan of any kind of ska, at least check this album out. One of the best live bands I've seen. Closet Monster - A Fight For What Is Right Link - http://www.divshare.com/download/4197297-856 MySpace - http://www.myspace.com/uoclosetmonster This is the first full-length from the guys who started the Underground Operations label and brought you other great bands like Marilyn's Vitamins, Bombs Over Providence and Hostage Life. Quite a bit more pop-punk than their later stuff, but it's alright. I only bought this album because it had a re-recording of a couple songs that I loved from the cassette they put out before this. If you're interested in some political pop-punk from the same city that brought you the amazing Sum 41(...) check this album out. The second part of this is coming as soon as the songs are uploaded. rtw88
Brand New - Fight Off Your Demos http://www.mediafire.com/?br0pfd1ym0l These are the demos that got leaked a couple months before The Devil and God came out. A few of these songs made their way out as official releases in altered forms, such as Brothers, Luca, Fork and Knife, and Sowing Season. For demos, nearly every song on hear is really good. Some songs are really different from anything they've released before, most notably tracks 4 and 7. Anywho, enjoy.

swank
This is the first full-length from the guys who started the Underground Operations label and brought you other great bands like Marilyn's Vitamins, Bombs Over Providence and Hostage Life. When I first started thinking of what I could post for defunct Toronto bands, Marilyn's Vitamins were the first to come to mind. All their material is out of print, but as their posthumous "best of" record is still apparently available via download from Underground Operations, I thought it was sort of a grey area. Reguardless, everyone should check them out any way they can.
