From what I've been told the "40oz" was substandard sound quality, on top of everything else. Someone tried to sneak an unlicensed copy out under the radar. I know the majority of info about it. It was shady shit. Sad, mainly because the color choice was perfect. I'm suspicious that copies will appear on the resale market since they were pressed, and it is unlikely that all were destroyed. Word to the audiophiles out there. The original Skunk pressing of this record is the best copy at this point. Man this really pisses me off! It's so damn difficult to get a copy of 40 oz and Robbin the Hood for a decent price! I know HT release is coming but i really want it now! Even though the 40 was pretty, i would be more pissed about shitty sound quality, and they were from what I was told. The knucklehead who tried to sneak the press through didnt have a decent master, (likely tried to use a CD as the master) and the word from Happoldt (Sublime's producer) is that the CD isn't as good as the vinyl master. The only HT press I have is "Robbin'," and it sounds pretty good. I'm guessing it's probably digital though if it didn't come from Skunk.
