Shitty Rambo
10:34AM BST 16 Oct 2011 Boffins say the eight minute track, called Weightless, is so effective at inducing sleep it should not be listened to while driving. Carefully arranged harmonies, rhythms and bass lines help to slow the heart rate, reduce blood pressure and lower levels of the stress hormone cortisol. Manchester trio Marconi Union worked with sound therapists to create the soothing tune, which also slows breathing and reduces brain activity. Scientists played the song to 40 women and found it to be more effective at helping them relax than songs by Enya, Mozart and Coldplay. jblahmaster
Just listened to this. While i wouldn't say the most relaxing tune ever, it certainly warrants a good listen. I felt soothed, but then again Sunn O))) does that just as well for me. Maybe it's just subjective.

mcm1610
Maybe it's because I just woke up, but I am not any closer to falling asleep than I was before.
kurtz
Doesn't make me any more sleepy than any other drone song.
kriss
So these guys are attempting to do what Brian Eno mastered 35 years ago. His 'Music For Airports' was composed with the intention of relaxing passengers and reducing stress as they traversed from one terminal to another. The music was played in several airports across the world as a sound installation to mixed results. I'm sure that 'Weightless' will meet a similar result. stopthisnoise
it's all subjective. or even the placebo effect. if someone tells you a song will make you sleep, you're more inclined to believe it to be true. I call bullshit
mattalica17
city and color makes me fall asleep the fastest. i think it is because my ears want it to stop so bad that my body just shuts down.
Shitty Rambo
I'm not sure if it was the song, the 9 hour shift, the 4 mile run, or half a melatonin I took but I passed out pretty quickly.
