because he cant list it on ebay as an original

not the case.

you won't see me throwing records on ebay very often. i like to keep/listen to mine.

it's just that Background Music is, to me, an American Nightmare release. at least thats what my CD copy said.

i understand that AN and GUTG are the same band, but i feel the albums should be labeled accordingly and not changed due to reissues.

When the band were forced to change their name, all physical releases with the existing AMERICAN NIGHTMARE name were destroyed that were on-hand with the label and their distributors. They were then revised and remanufactured with the GIVE UP THE GHOST name.

Off the top of my head, I'm not sure if EVR ever repressed the vinyl for "Background Music" after that first initial pressing, but I did supply them with a revised version way back when.

Regardless of how you perceive the name change, it is/was the same band. In fact a majority of "We're Down..." was crafted when the band was operating under the AMERICAN NIGHTMARE name. The name is/was irrelevant, and the music is all that will ever matter. This reality will always beat romanticism. Thanks.

Anyway, I'm glad you are all enjoying the release.

We are very proud of it.

In Vinyl We Trust has pink if you're interested. Probably not a rarer color.

So far the it looks like Wer're Down colors are Opaque Yellow, Orange/Gold (was supposed to be an EVR exclusive), Pink, and that mystery purple color. Am I right?

There was a 2nd pressing of Background Music with the name change.
