monsterrod
I'm sorry f this is a re-post but it seems like it may be worth checking out for a couple of us... "The statement “Fat Mike of NOFX has a ragtime album coming out” is not something you would expect to ever hear. However, Mike’s actually been experimenting with ragtime sounds in his day job ever since the hilarious classic “Buggly Eyes” first appeared on White Trash Two Heebs and a Bean way back in 1992. Now, he’s teamed up with guys from the Mad Caddies and Tom Waits’ backing band to bring you ten authentically classic ragtime tunes that will gently swing you back to the days of yore while you sip your old fashioned, wax your mustache or get decked out in latex and tie your slave to the spanking horse. Wait, what? Oh, that’s right! Mike’s ragtime album is actually the soundtrack for Soma Snakeoil's new fetish film Rubber Bordello. But for those of you out there who like your ragtime unsullied by bawdy cinema, the soundtrack is available (porn free) on both cd and vinyl. The vinyl pressing will be limited to 1000 copies, which won’t last long with all the rabid NOFX vinyl collectors. So fill up that opium prescription, heat up your dirigible, or crank up your model T and get yourself a copy of the Rubber Bordello Soundtrack. Ragtime’s never sounded so good." http://www.interpunk.com/item.cfm?Item=200018&
billya
This would be a random release to own, as I do love NOFX. Anyone heard any of it yet?
monsterrod
Here's a link to the trailer. Unless you work in an extremely liberal environment, this is NSFW http://rubberbordello.com/homepage/

Guest
This release will probably go over the heads of 95% of the posters here.
ilikeguitars
Listened to some of it on spotify and i'm really enjoying the honkey tonk music. Could care less about the dvd but this reminds me fat mike is a great musician.

Scruffy...the janitor
I bought this when I ordered the new Joyce Manor. For some reason my fiance is really into ragtime music. I listened to a few clips, I guess it's okay, but the record is really for her.
runforcover
I love NOFX but this really sucks. bad. Why does it suck? Sounds pretty on point for what it is.
monsterrod
I love NOFX but this really sucks. bad. Maybe ragtime isn't your thing, but I can't see how it "sucks." Sounds good to me, as far as ragtime goes. Of course Buggly Eyes is pretty much my only ragtime experience so Fat Mike has the ragtime market cornered. circuit bored records
You guys know that this is a soundtrack to a psuedo S&M film right? And maybe the music makes a little more sense when hearing it alongside the film, and not sitting at your computer on spotify...
Guest
I love NOFX but this really sucks. bad. Exactly what I expect the majority of folks here to think...lol.
yocaseycasey
Can anyone weigh in on the lyrics? It's a porn soundtrack? I have no speakers at work, and I see the titles. Is it completely inappropriate to listen to?
throwgncpr
Can anyone weigh in on the lyrics? It's a porn soundtrack? I have no speakers at work, and I see the titles. Is it completely inappropriate to listen to? only the first track has vocals, the rest are instrumental. IIRC, track 1 was safe for work. And this definitely doesn't suck, but it's not all that memorable either.

throwgncpr
and it's the first in a series... any more info? I hope they get a little more creative if they continue it. Like I said, this isn't terrible, but its not all that interesting either.
