cadetapplesauce Posted June 23, 2012 Share Posted June 23, 2012 with people thinking they got this, to later find out they didn't... it's gonna be a hard one to get on the secondary market. it didn't help that they released a box set that any label would mark up to at least $300 for $130. hell, the digital tracks on itunes would cost $200. totally. i feel like the price contributed a lot to amount of orders that were placed. at least in my mind, a $250 or so box set would've dropped those who scraped together the $130 ($170) to get one and the flippers who are going to or have made 2 or 3 times that much, solely off the fact that it would be expensive. but it was so damn cheap (relatively... it was $35 for a 2xlp III/IV). incredible deal, but still... you've got to imagine that that had an effect. You all know how delicate the seams are on these things. 13 pounds? is that what they said? Handled by who? UPS? I see a lot of eBay buyers gettig real pissed shelling out serious cash for a box that will be blown out on all four sides. I also hope someone QC'd these things before shipping. Many recent limited pressings have failed to meet quality standards; flaming lips - heady nuggs, My Morning Jacket - Circuital Deluxe Box and Tom Waits colored represses just to name a few. They had to do massive recalls and repressings. But, in my experience, the bands or labels have always made good on poor quality so we'll see. I hope it's all good.
