FS etiquette

Hi

I have never posted somethig for sale on this board before, just curious on posting etiquette is it safe to assume that I probably shouldnt expect to get the same amount for something like I would selling on ebay/discogs or comparable to popsike values?

exactly. im fairly new, but what this community is about is being fair, and helping people out with prices. we all know what things are worth and go for. in my experience, i sell for exactly what i bought it for, or less...depending on availability.

Most people on here expect a "VC discount", which means 10-20% off the ebay value.

 

But you can sell your stuff for whatever you want. If you put extra high dollar amounts on stuff people might leave messages like "you smoking crack?" or "I'm interested in your stuff but you price is high, let me know if you come down a bit and we'll talk". Do what you want, though, and realize that there are very, very few records that if someone doesn't pay your price for, won't pop up for sale again in the next couple months if not days.

Pretty much what he said. Ebay and discogs are going to take 10% of what you sell it for anyway and theres a risk that it doesnt go for what its worth for whatever reason.

As for your specific question. Most people on VC will want to pay for less than eBay/Discogs prices but still keeping it fair. It's a gamble yes, because as a seller, you'd want to maximize profit of course. And as a buyer, you'd want to get the record for as cheap/fair as possible without feeling like you're being ripped off and gouged.

i give somewhat fair prices in hopes that when one of my buyers has a record I want they might cut me a deal.
