Cancelled order question

Recommended Posts

So I did the Strictly Discs record request list for Record Store Day. I think I had 9 or 10 things on the list and when they put up what was being sent out on the night of the 19th, the only thing they were able to get me was the Titus Andronicus 12". I was able to grab a copy at my local store on the 20th and emailed them that night to cancel the order. Of course 2 weeks later I get it in the mail so I refused the package and had it sent back. Emailed them asking for a full refund. No replies to either email. Got my credit card statement this week and no refund had been issued so I emailed again and included a couple other email addresses on the email to hopefully get a response. The response was that my card was credited for the LP but that it had already been shipped before they got my email (so i'm assuming this means they're not refunding the shipping).

So 2 things - first off , all along they said they were doing RSD the same as last year. Well last year I got a call on Friday saying that they got everything I asked for with a total price. No phone call this year so no chance to really tell them I didn't want the single LP they were able to get me.

Second - I really wish I took a picture of the shipping label, because based on how busy the stores here are there is no way they had time to pack up all these orders and print shipping labels on Saturday.

So basically deciding if I should eat the shipping cost or tell my credit card company I cancelled the order and that they shipped it anyway.

Thoughts? - PS sorry for writing a book.

Plus, They told you on the 19th you were getting it and the next day you go out and buy one and expect them to eat the shipping.come on now

Well I kind of expected a phone call like they did last year since they said they were doing it the same way. I feel like last year they sold a lot more stuff to online people and this year they only did stuff they knew they'd have leftover.

Also tried to login to my account to see if there was a shipping notification (really wish I had taken a picture of the box to see when it went out) and apparently they disabled my account. Not sure why they'd be so upset that I basically returned a record I asked them not to send. It's not like they lost anything out of it.

Why would you go out and buy something you knew was already on the way? Maybe they did get it out that fast. Or, if they were as busy as you think and not able to get everything out quickly, maybe they couldn't get through all their e-mail. Most companies have a 24-48 hour response policy to e-mail.

Sounds like mostly your fault
