Vinyl Fury
Discogs entry for the 6131 pressing claims it's mastered by Ted Jensen at sterling sound. Can anyone confirm Sterling in the deadwax or is this just from the original liner notes?
thievesdont
Not in the deadwax. From the CD booklet, just snapped this:
Vinyl Fury
Spinning the grey 6131 now. Not as bad as expected. Good packaging, 2 pieces of cardboard. Lined inner sleeve, decent quality jacket. Interesting color. Cool looking grey, translucent against the light, looks almost clear. Sound isn't amazing, but it's definitely not bad. A bit compressed, may be a CD quality transfer, but it's not awful. from my instagram, @vinylfury David Loyd
thievesdont
You described it much better than I could haha. Nice picture!
Bender
I bet if SRC wasn't doing their version nobody would be critiquing the sound quality . I'm spinning my clear copy right now and I think it sounds pretty awesome . I'll pick up the SRC version as well .
thievesdont
Not true at all at least for me. From the get go, before the SRC version was even announced, I was worried about how the record would sound - and hopeful.
Prestonlanes
I thought it sounded great on my first listen, at least in the pressing quality.
deletedunknown
I ordered a grey during a 15% off sale and ended up receiving a clear. Can't complain about that.
David Loyd
Just received my LP. USPS looks like they used it for home plate during a baseball game. The packaging was so jacked I feared the worst and sure enough the sleeve looks like it was chewed on by many dogs and the record itself actually has a bend / dent on the edge going through most of the first track. fuckin usps.... sadface..... thesecrets0308
i still need this lp and hope for a repress. $30 is a bit too expensive for me. My copy of By A Thread Last of the Daydreams showed up today. Very pleased with the condition, it's practically brand new. Very small bend in one corner of the jacket, but the LP itself looks like it's never been played and it's flat as a pancake. somber_silt

captainaldous
From SRC or was this a 6131 variant?
thesecrets0308
From SRC or was this a 6131 variant? I think he was saying before that he got roped into the 6131 release and wanted to get the SRC release.
David Loyd
Finally got my replacement white copy from no sleep and I think it's sounds pretty awesome. Just waiting for my SRC copy to compare, but pretty happy with the 6131 AQ.
thievesdont
Hate to seem like an asshole about it. I think my problem was that I was expecting too much because of how damn good the CD always sounded to me. Glad you guys are enjoying it though. I've been listening to a burned copy for years in trying to keep my legit cd undamaged but On first few listens the vinyl definitely sounds good to my ears. thievesdont
So bummed as I ordered the smoke, but not your fault. A LOT of pressings have been getting fucked up these last few months.
