Guest deathbydrums
For those of you that might not know, Goblin are a band that helped kick-started a global obsession with horror movie soundtracks. The band recorded a startling number of unfuckwithable scores in their day, most of which were collaborations with famed filmmaker Dario Argento, and they still hold up to this day serving as the cornerstone for a new generation of horror-addicted young’uns. The Italian prog-rockers are set to return this fall with a new EP on the incredibly fitting Death Waltz imprint. Death Waltz have made their name over the last couple of years re-issuing the great and good of horror soundtracks past, so to find the label hooking up with the band that really made it all possible just leaves us with a big grin on our faces. The EP will be brand new versions of classic Goblin material, and will be pressed on 180g vinyl with art from Evil Dead and Nightmare on Elm Street illustrator Graham Humphreys. It doesn’t end here though, the band are set to tour the North America for the very first time and have quite the show in mind. The press release states that the band will perform “all their classic cuts, including scores from Deep Red, Suspiria, Tenebrae, Dawn of the Dead, Phenomena, Sleepless and other songs that are milestones among prog rock followers, including songs from Roller, Il fantastico Viaggio del Bagarozzo Mark, and most recently Back to the Goblin. Other famous scores never performed live anywhere will be included on this tour.”The band will be made up of the classic trio of Claudio Simonetti, Maurizio Guarini and Massimo Morante who were all members back in mid 70s, with drummer Titta Tani and bassist Bruno Previtali who were both members of Simonetti’s other band Daemonia.Tour dates:10/1 Atlanta, GA – The Loft10/3 Asheville, NC – The Orange Peel10/4 Baltimore, MD – Otto Bar10/5 Philadelphia, PA – Underground Arts10/6 Brooklyn, NY – The Music Hall of Williamsburg10/9 Boston, MA – Sinclair10/10 Montreal, QC – Le National10/11 Toronto, ON – Opera House10/12 Pontiac, MI – The Crofoot10/13 Chicago, IL – Metro10/15 Denver, CO – The Gothic Theatre10/18 Seattle, WA – Neumos10/19 Portland, OR – Hawthorne Theatre10/20 San Francisco, CA – The Regency Ballroom10/22 Los Angeles, CA – Beyond Fest @ The Egyptian Theater10/25 Austin, TX – Housecore Horror Film Festival10/27 Austin, TX – Housecore Horror Film Festival
turbobrando
I think my friend (and possibly myself) are going to try and go to the Chicago show. Tix are only $25. I had an OP of Suspiria that I found for $10, but I gave it to said friend for his birthday

Guest deathbydrums
Not sure. I would think that with this being their new EP that they would have wider distribution.

I'm not sure if that's worldwide, UK only, or what.

Whip Wilson
Subscribers get the exclusive red and clear split record. while i believe red is the retail version After some further research, DW is selling the red/clear split to subscribers (in the past they have opened leftovers to general sale via their website), solid red to stores (on 10/15), and clear red at the shows. Seattle date is too close to a trip for me to take off, such a bummer. It's a bad date for me as well, but I'm powering through and making it happen. Purchased tickets on Monday. Guest deathbydrums
Best news ever if you really like ridiculously talented musicians and have an open-mind... Touring with Goblin will be Secret Chiefs 3 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of my all time favourite bands. They will destroy!!!!!!!! Also, apparently the Goblin record is a "tour EP" from DW. Definitely going!!! Guest deathbydrums
Cover Image + Info + Teaser Video [NSFW] http://m.exclaim.ca/News/goblin_share_cover_art_details_for_new_tour_ep A bit disappointed that its only a 4 song EP with no new material, but still very excited to see them play (more excited for Secret Chiefs 3 though!). Guest deathbydrums
The 4 tracks were streaming from the DW site before... It's good. Still, I'd recommend the full, original albums instead.
