GHOSTDRONES
Do you know that for sure? From what Dan has said in the past, they only have MP3s of Deathconsciousness at this point due to a hard drive crash. All the vinyl versions at least have been "mastered" and pressed from these MP3 files as the source.
Neanderthal
Wow, had no idea. That kinda blows...
GHOSTDRONES
Wow, had no idea. That kinda blows... It does, and considering that Dan has also said that a hard drive crash (as well as the length) is what put the kibosh on "Destinos" inclusion on The Unnatural World or a separate release around it, one would hope that they might figure out or use better technology. Neanderthal
Is it because of a financial reason?
valve
Is it because of a financial reason? After it was recorded they just exported it as MP3 320, when they should have done wav or flac.

GHOSTDRONES
The first pressing was mastered from MP3 as well. And so was the CD. I knew all the vinyl pressings were, but I wasn't sure if the very first CDr run was and did want to speak to that effect. That is crazy. Definitely was the first time that I heard this whole mess. I have no idea how one would "master" from MP3s, so I am doubting that the new Deathconsciousness press will sound any better than the previous EL ones. Though it could potentially sound worse, like say if they used glow-in-the-dark vinyl for some reason.

Actually I'm not sure about the CDr, I thought the first CD was a commercial pressing from a glass master. On that CD you can definitely see the high pass cut off on a spectral view. You can master from MP3, once it is imported into a DAW the DAW just converts it to WAV (obviously it can't do anything about the resolution loss). The first vinyl pressing wasn't on quiet vinyl, I'm not too sure where they pressed it.
drds89
finally got my Unnatural Worlds (got both) in after contacting Jonathan directly at The Flenser... need to give it 9 more listens. I don't see folks clamoring or creaming about it on the thread here, what's up? ( "get off my back" already) But if you have instagram, follow The Flenser if this linkie doesn't workie: http://instagram.com/p/lOQZhkRqmn/
GHOSTDRONES
Yeah I saw this. I would rather see Time Of Land on LP at this point
Neanderthal
Oooooh now I will be keeping my eyes peeled for a PO. Assuming it's a repress. (Please?) Also, is ELHR working a lot more with the Flenser? Saw a new Planning for Burial album on the instagram coming up.

jhulud
From The Flenser: First press is now sold out. You order the second pressing should start shipping the week of 3/24/14 to the week of 3/31/14. The repress jacket has a different rougher stock than the original album http://store.theflenser.com/product/have-a-nice-life-the-unnatural-world-lp-pre-order
Neanderthal
So since I have neither I should wait to order both...(?)Edit: Saw the new White Suns up for PO, so I snagged that and the repress. Will wait for Deathconsciousness patiently.

radiatorhums
http://web.stagram.com/p/746633374420347843_30249521 Pretty damn excited for that. This has been a great year for The Flenser and it's only half done! They're slowly becoming one of my favorite labels.
Neanderthal
I hear that! I'm stoked for new Botanist. Pretty fucking weird music, but the first time I heard IV from him, I was repulsively intrigued.

azvd
Thing's gonna be huge. Flenser is aware of the whole fuss and hopefully they'll have the funds to press enought copies for everyone. I love this album.

Agreed. Wondering if there'll be a limited variant.
azvd
I believe there will. But only black is real over here
radiatorhums
Agreed. Wondering if there'll be a limited variant. I'm sure there will be. I think they always do 200 or 300 on color and then black the rest of the way. One of the better ways to do things if you ask me.
