kamalatapes
"Although he recorded more than 100 albums, Mr. Seeger distrusted commercialism and was never comfortable with the idea of stardom. He invariably tried to use his celebrity to bring attention and contributions to the causes that moved him, or to the traditional songs he wanted to preserve." They don't make them like this anymore RIP

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
RIP to a true music legend and activist, the stories I heard about this man from folk artists I used to work with at my last job were just incredible and inspiring.
Dusted_By_Space
Cahnged by wall paper at work to a photo of pete, every single person who has walked by has asked "who is that." That to me is a shame, everybody should know Pete Seeger.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
http://tommysands.com/news/seeger90.html the 90th birthday celebration was truely incredible, the collection of musicians and activists all together celebrating Seeger's life. read the reflection of the event by one of the artists I worked for. if you can get a copy of the performance, it might be up on youtube now, but you need to watch it. I dont think many musicians can/could have the impact that Pete Seeger had, not just on music, but on every day life.

jerseydave77
You read about his life and it's like an instruction manual for how to live as both an artist and human being. A life well lived.
dawhizz
Pete Seeger was the truth. The Weavers at Carnegie Hall is about as good as it gets.

No; they were part of a history project when I was a freshman. I can probably dig up some transcripts though.
