  1. Yeah, cassette players have gone out of style, not out of production. I'd recommend looking into something like this: http://www.teac.com/product/w-890r/ Cassettes are cool. Wish there was more love for them on this board.
  2. Yeah, its the inner netting they invented to line swim trunks. It provides a comforting snugness.
  3. Now there vynils are worth like a thousand dallars, rite guise?
  4. Everyone I've talked to has hated this season so far. They are wrong.
  5. http://www.ebay.com/itm/TOOL-LIVE-IN-NEWCASTLE-ENGLAND-1993-COLOURED-VINYL-LP-/131004393732?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item1e80786904 Been looking for an excuse to bump this thread. These boots are getting increasingly ridiculous/annoying.
  6. Reviving this thread, 'cause it's mine, and I can do that. Pretty sure I'm gonna go with this: http://www.amazon.com/Sauder-Multimedia-Storage-Cinnamon-Cherry/dp/B002RRH23W I read that it's cheap, but it works. Talk me out of it if it's a complete waste of time.
  7. That ebay listing is actually from a record store I frequent. They sell boots. Cool place most of the time, though.
  8. Yeah, they're not bootlegs (most of the time). It's just that, in those countries, cassettes are cheaper to make and easier to sell. If it were a money-maker, they'd still be making 8-tracks. Around 2007 though, most of those countries turned to CD's.
  9. When do you think nincatalog.com will have scans of everything up?
  10. I'm old-fashioned, so I'm gonna wait until I buy it to hear it in it's entirety. But I like what I'm hearing from you guys. The Fragile is by far my favorite 'Nails album, and if there's any resemblance, it's gotta be good.
  11. Yeah, it's a toughie to find. 2000 was a bad year for cassettes. So was 2001... and 2002... etc. I'm also going out of my head looking for The Bends/OK Computer/Kid A on MiniDisc. Those things were cool...
  12. How much for Kid A? Obviously your favorite band, but dude... I need that tape...
  13. This thread's existence also pleases me. Not new, but quintessential.
  14. I agree here more than the straight-forward hatred of Everything. I'm getting the feeling that it's "happy, poppy" feel has some sarcastic overtones when played with the album. Hesitation Marks really feels like it'll be a concept album, and Reznor knows how to put stuff like that together.
  15. The track "Everything" is up for free on NPR's All Songs Considered. http://www.npr.org/blogs/allsongs/2013/08/19/213497724/new-music-nine-inch-nails-earl-sweatshirt-juana-molina-more Not loving this one. Hope it sounds better against the backdrop of the rest of the album.
  16. Hmm. Weird indeed. Good thing amazon.com will have it for $12 in 6 months. -importcds is making a killing from me.
  17. I remember "One Little Victory" being on NFS: Hot Pursuit 2. Good times. Might pick this up, not sure. Not big on remixes, but I am big on Rush. Dilemma, indeed.
  18. Vinyl release confirmed, pre-order info up top. Some wild artwork as usual.
  19. Nah, don't sweat it. I've got a brother who's an electrician, I would ask him if he knows anything about splicing long before I went anywhere near it. But I'm thinking of pitching it anyway, since I would want to upgrade to a nicer deck in a year or so anyway, even if this one worked perfectly. I'll just hold out for now. 4 bucks is no loss to me.
  20. Completely agree on it's radness, but... This guy is right. After some digging, I learned it came as a set with a TT and a receiver. It's only supposed to get power from the receiver it plugs into (which makes sense), and that plug shape is probably unique to that model alone. My only idea to make this function would be to splice the cord with a standard 2-prong power cord. (Although, probably not a great idea.) Outside of that, it's more or less useless. Good thing I spent almost nothing on it. Thanks, guys.
