crap headliners aside, this is a really solid lineup and while some of them are out of place like peter hook/jd, dinosaur jr., mission of burma, i'm stoked to see them!

Stephen Jenkins... you shit head (and repress apparently.)
kriss replied to a topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Re-upping an old thread after hitting up every possible lead in the sales section is admirable for the sake of dedication, I guess, but is also annoying. Hitting multiple threads and PMs for a singular agenda is always going to piss people off. Yr birth date has you at 30 - shouldn't you know how to internet better at this point? -

your inability to read before asking a question? we all know the search function isn't the best, but c'mon. -

hilarity truly is spontaneous. -
they tend to get left around town in certain shops like Reckless. I work at Quimby's and one of their dudes dropped in and left half a dozen pairs of saturday/sunday tickets with me to hand out. I posted them on the store's fb page and seriously,no one claimed them. Ended up just giving them all away to friends.

PO: Futurecop! - Superheroes Flexi Disc
kriss replied to kriss's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
that video totally rules as a 'Mannequin' homage. I'm talking with Manz from Futurecop! about doing a monthly flexi series and even though that single is almost a year old, I'd still love to press it. -
and free ones. last year, i came across multiple two day passes. made me regret even paying for the discounted ones.

Hey, Everyone! I have a new side label called Pocket Transparencies, that, unlike Notes and Bolts, doesn't focus on strictly Chicago stuff. With PT, I'm focusing largely on electronic pop music and such. We've got singles coming up for the summer from HEARTSREVOLUTION, The Outrunners (Valerie Records and labelmates/best friends with College, who were featured on the Drive soundtrack), and several more. Our first release is a flexi by Futurecop! from London called 'Superheroes'. The video was recently featured on MTV IGGY (the stateside imprint of the channel that focuses on overseas stuff, I guess?) and the single ships in the second week of June (they ship to us in just a couple of weeks). Grab one below - I've been pretty excited about this new label and hopefully some of ya'll will dig it, too! http://pockettransparencies.bigcartel.com/product/futurecop-superheroes-feat-kristine-pre-order Check out the video here: (oh, and like us on FB, too - https://www.facebook.com/pockettransparencies)

FS - Weezer - Green Album - OG Green Vinyl - Now in eBay Thread
kriss replied to marc32137's topic in Sale/Trade/Wants
Scored a black copy off of of a dude for $5 in a lot on craigslist a couple of years ago. i'm still kind of stoked about it, considering the rest of the haul (including a $5 blue album, as well). -
is it me or did it just really not take that much to knock his armor off at any given point?

Ian Rubbish and the Bizzaros free download
kriss replied to idreamofpunk's topic in Everything Else Message Board
the b-side on the Crisis of Conformity 7" is great! Would be great if the Rubbish one had Maggie Thatcher with Sweet Iron Lady on the b-side. -
Does anyone have any experience with this portable recording unit? I've had my friend's for a week or so now and I've really enjoyed working with it so much that I went ahead and ordered one for myself (along with one of those furry looking windshields that you put on it so that recording clarity is maintained outdoors). I don't have super high expectations for what I'm doing with it (mainly recording for audio collaging as well as field recordings such as buskers, street musicians, subway musicians, etc) but would like to learn as much about it as possible. Any tips?

NEW AFI ALBUM SEPT 2013
kriss replied to KennyFuckingPowers's topic in Everything Else Message Board
Cexcells sounded like super weak VNV nation. bad EBM thatvwas five years out of date. I legit liked Sing The Sorrow, but Black Sails just slays. So does that Son of Sam record. Heard it for years and finally found a copy a few years ago for just a few bucks. -
Came home last night to my apartment submerged in over an inch of water. Spent several hours unplugging electronics and moving things to higher platforms. Ugh.

Man - I like Revolution a lot! If only I wasn't working Quimby's until 10! On a sidenote, Notes and Bolts are having our 1 year anniversary show tonight at the Burlington. It's also the release show for Architecture's new 7", that we just put, and who are on the bill. $6 for cover or $10 with a 7". Would be great if some of ya'll could come out and hang and support - at the very least, so I don't have to pay the sound guy if the turn out is bad!

It's less than 20 minutes walking from P-Rex to Reckless. I'll be to Reckless by 8:00. Mike and I were talking about it when he was over earlier and I mentioned that maybe we do a barter for the two stores. If any of us go to P-Rex, we'll have everyone's lists in the event we see something and in trade, the Reckless folks can hold some spots in line.

My choice is contingent on my only living a few blocks from the Milwaukee location. The one thing I truly have my heart set on is The Fog and I'm praying i'm one of the only ones.
