  1. Day 3 - still feeling pretty good. Occasional hunger pangs, but nothing that can't be fixed with a huge glass of water. 8 pounds of (likely water) weight dropped. Hopefully some fat starts coming off soon. Casey, any tips for avoiding the bummer you're experiencing when hitting the double digits?
  2. Day 2 weigh in and I'm down 4 pounds. Water weight just as Casey said. I'm feeling pretty good. I'm blogging more in depth over at my Tumblr, don't wanna do it here since this is Casey's thread. nooneisdangerous.tumblr.com p.s. thought he was kidding. nope. the weird ass dreams DO happen at night.
  3. I did. My starting weight is exactly what you were at when you started, so maybe my changes will be identical? Trying to establish a routine of four 16 ounce juices throughout the day. One at 10 AM when I wake up, then one at 2 in the afternoon, another at 6 in the evening and a final at 10 PM (I usually got to bed around 2 AM, so not worried about consuming later in the night). I've been trying to figure out if I can still do kombucha while on this and potentially achieve the same weight loss. Kombucha is great for giving the feeling of being full but is definitely heavy on the carbs side. So...
  4. I use the MyFitness app to keep count of all of my intake. A 16 ounce celery/green apple/cucumber juice is 135. With most of the research I've done pointing at four 16 ounce servings a day, that's 540 at the most. You'd need to do 7 servings a day to get up to 1,000. I'll stick this out as long as possible.
  5. Started today and while I enjoy the juice, I'm still somewhat skeptical of how safe this is since a full serving of a kale/green apple/celery hybrid is around 130 calories. Three times a day and 400 calories seems off, but I'm giving this a shot.
  6. Thanks so much for posting this, man! We're really excited about getting this out there. The band will be hand decorating the tests, so definitely get in on that for a chance to get one at random along with the normal copy.
  7. Ah, cool. Thanks, man! Are you the one that asked for local pickup on the Ooze's status update on FB? I can get you my address if you wanna do local pick up.
  8. Casey, I think I'm gonna start on July 1st like we were planning, but I'm gonna blend to retain the fiber. What are you doing for exercise?
  9. The Zod resolution at the end is still odd to me given the long running rep of Supes as a Boy Scout, but on the whole, I really enjoyed this.
  10. Would be down to grab Meridional if it's still around.
  11. My label, Notes and Bolts, is also a podcast that runs new episodes every Wednesday and Friday featuring 100% Chicago bands. I have the Ooze on this coming Wednesday. Check out the show's archive at www.notesandbolts.net
  12. clicked in just to see what was going on and now, two hours later, i realized that i left it on in a tab and just let it go. hahah. the drums are a nice way of focusing in when working.
  13. Man, i'm usually on yr side when it comes to taste, but this lineup is beyond stellar. Flag, The Selecter, X, the'Mats, Bad Brains, and another dozen and a half bands - the quality is beyond there.
  14. Holy huge picture, dude! So these came in and already I've not got a terribly good amount of them left, so pick one up if yr inclined. The picture sleeve has the circle in the middle, and I took it slightly off aligned from the center label - so know that was me and not a bad alignment job on the record or sleeves, themselves.
  15. So I'm starting up a new podcast series in addition to Notes and Bolts that I want to use to document cassette labels doing their thing on a global scale. With N+B, I stay strictly inside of Chicago, but with this new series, area is not a limit. I know that there are detractors around these parts, and that's fine; but I also know that there are quite a few folks who have released cassettes either exclusively or alongside vinyl. Regardless of opinion, I personally find the revival of the format over the last several years to be really interesting, and having dabbled in releasing nearly a dozen cassettes on Notes and Bolts, I've been able to talk to tons of folks who have shown sincerity in their love of tapes. I don't think that they've ever gone away and I don't think they ever will - I want to document folks who are working in the medium. What do I need from interested parties? 30 minutes of yr time via Skype to talk about yr label as I record, along with a zipped file of tracks you've released emailed to me so that I can insert them in, around, and under talking segments. You can respond here or email at [email protected]
  16. I seriously don't get this whole mentality of thinking a name is up for grabs since the previous person using it no longer is. There's a band out there now called Ride who think it's okay to use the name because the 80's shoegaze Ride are long broken up. Just because someone isn't using a property doesn't mean it's like a pair of pants at a thrift store that you now get a crack at. If some tshirts are all you have at this point, sell them off and change the name. Those aren't enough to merit the mentality that it's too late to change what you've got. Taking a moniker that has already been used to a decent extent just causes unnecessary confusion. Also, is this you? https://www.facebook.com/RedbeardRecords. - there's a logo buried further down on the page that looks almost identical to your avater.
  17. they're not the ones charging you $2.75 per unit though, right? Samantha is super helpful and great to work with - been trying to think of a good way to use the cassingles now that they're offering those.
  18. Guys; National Audio Company. My label has done nearly ten cassette releases through them thus far and it's been pretty smooth sailing. $190 shipped for a run of 100 with shell imprinting, full color front and back jcards, etc.
  19. thought this was a joke, lol'd, looked at the dead format. pretty sure it's not a joke. that 'super punk tatted up chick' has played in a few bands that have pressed vinyl - starting with doing it during those vinyl deprived, wasteland 90's.
  20. the season ends like that?!!? i need answers!
  21. I'm really enjoying it at 9 episodes in but I'm still not a huge fan of certain characters going for long stretches without being seen. I feel like Debris is more of a prominent character than many of the main cast members, for example.
  22. Got my copy in yesterday - thing is a brick! Listened to Bum Rush last night and really thrilled with it. My beat up copy of It Takes A Million finally gets to rest.
