My order for package #2 was sitting on the porch when I got home a few minutes ago. Listening to Dreams are Maps right now. So far side A is pretty darn solid. The vinyl itself is a burnt orange/black swirl that kinda reminds me of an old bowling ball. The jacket art for Set Ourselves Free is pretty nice and minimal. Its basically a sketch of a shack/cabin with what I'm guessing are wolf legs and tail.

I found/bought the Brendan Kelly and the Wandering Birds LP at Hot Topic on clearance for $8.48 yesterday.

The 2 Socratic LPs I ordered from BHR were hanging in a garbage bag on the mailbox post at the road when I got home from work today. I love my mail carrier.

I've really enjoyed my Monitor Audio BX series monitors and with your budget you could look at the Gold GX50 or GX100 monitors. They have a ribbon tweeter which may help offer the type of sound you're after. The Ascends you mentioned get a lot of praise and recommendations from avsforums.com message board, but I've not personally heard them. I did receive a very prompt, professional and helpful email from the owner when I had inquired about their cmt-340 series speakers.

Showed up 20 minutes before open at Bearded Lady Records in Flint, MI.... was 16th in line. They opened a few minutes early and staggered the entry. I managed to grab The Cure - Kiss Me³. By the time I got in there were only like 10-20 LPs left and about a dozen 7"s. As I was checking out I noticed a copy of t/t/t but didn't have the sense to grab it. Oh well.

Just ordered the 2 LP package. Hopefully the rest of the new album is as solid as the "trailer".

Nice. Picked up Taking Back Sunday-TAYF, Matt Skiba &The Sekrets-Babylon. Weatherbox-American Art and Fireworks-Gospel. Looking forward to parting with more money that should probably be used for other things. When my wife asks about the charge I will use her logic about how I saved us money by buying now and see if it works for me like she thinks it does for her.
