Shipping notification and tracking initially showed this Friday for delivery. It showed up this afternoon. Apparently Flint(ish), MI is lucky enough to be considered Mid-West. I got the grey variant with black 7" (had ordered Orange LP/Black 7")... Almost made it worth going out in the frigid temps to snow-throw the drive so the mail could get delivered.

My understanding is that the Technics SL 1600, SL 1700, and SL 1800 models are suspended.

On my Onkyo TX-NR609 I increased the gain on the input I run my phono preamp into using the "IntelliVolume" feature. This allowed me to balance out the turntable level with the rest of my sources. Your receiver has the same feature. Setting it to +5 worked good for me.

The Hitachi speakers are 8 ohm so no worries about impedance. They are rated at 100 watts max, but I typically don't pay much attention to power ratings, regardless. I couldn't find a sensitivity rating, but I'm guessing in the high 80s would be about right. They don't have the horn tweeter that was likely a huge factor in the high sensitivity rating on the MTXs. Still these should sound decent and be driven fine by that Sony.

What's the model # on that Sony receiver? If its not able to deal well with the load it'll likely damage the amp before any issues with the speakers occur.

The specs I'm seeing for those speakers show a pretty high 93db sensitivity, so they should be easily driven to pretty good volume levels by most amps. However, they also look to be 4 Ohm so make sure that whatever you get can handle that impedance. The technics unit you mentioned is rated at 60 watts/ch (20-20k) @ 4 Ohms so it should work just fine. I wouldn't be overly worried about trying to get an amp that can match the speakers wattage specs... I'm guessing that, regardless of the rating, those speakers wouldn't fair very well if they ever saw the 300 watts RMS that they're rated at. Also, you would likely do all sorts of bad things to your hearing.

Great Lakes crossing in Auburn Hills had a pretty good selection last I was there and I can usually find most of the new releases at the Flint store.

I end up having some of my regular mail and half or more of the usps shipped packages mis-delivered two houses down because my post office/mail sorters/carrier can't differentiate between 11441 and 11411. The lady that lives at that house is constantly bringing mis-delivered shit down to me. Sometimes if I am expecting a package on a certain day I'll just walk down to their house and it'll be sitting next to their door so I'll just grab it. What's really weird is they only fuck up stuff that should go to me... I have never gotten any of her mail.
