Choices were a little all over the place last week, I watched Hell Baby, Frankenstein's Army, Oblivion and The Bling Ring.

Just finished the last season of The Shield too.

The records are to soundtrack your brew day, the hobbies go hand in hand!    Sadly, it also takes up a decent amount of space like recording recollecting too.

^ Well done, sir!  This thread and the album have rekindled my interest in the band and prompted to me to pay more attention to the albums I hadn't spend enough time with (Mare and Ring War especially.  It also makes me wish I was a little more sober the last time I saw them...

Haha, not a problem.  The beginner forum on Homebrew Talk would be a good place to browse too : http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f39/ That place has been a huge boon of information for me.

I agree with this statement completely.  If you think this is a hobby that you'll enjoy and stick with and do regularly, it's worth spending the extra money right off the bat and getting a decent sized kettle.  The ones in starter kits are usually cheap 5 gallon ones.  In addition, if this is something you do think you'll do a lot, consider starting with all-grain brewing (as opposed to extract or partial extract).  It's a little more complicated to start out, but you'll learn more and in the end you'll have MUCH better beer.  I started out doing all grain and it was a little daunting at first, but I'm glad I did.  If possible, see if you can find someone in the area to guide you through the first batch or two.  Offer to fill them full of beer and give them a gallon of your first batch or something.

John Palmer's How To Brew Beer is an excellent resource reading : http://www.howtobrew.com/intro.html

If you have any specific questions about equipment or what not, feel free to DM me.  I usually brew two 5 gallon batches a month and should know enough to get you setup.  I would keep in mind that it can be a fairly expensive hobby to get into initially, but most of your equipment should last for a very long time and after that you mostly need to buy ingredients.  It is a little time consuming, a brew session usually takes me about 6 hours (and I've got my methods pretty streamlined).  Patience is the other big thing, be prepared to brew a batch and drink it 6 to 8 weeks later.  It's tough at first, but if you do it enough, you'll have plenty of other beer to keep you occupied!

But like I said, if you have any questions, hit me up.  I'm more than happy to help!  Start saving non-twist off bottles now too, especially 22oz ones (you'll be glad you did).  Just rinse them out really good with hot water, don't run them through the dishwasher or anything.

Edit : Sorry if that post is a little hard to follow, I just woke up.

I watched Trance about a month or so ago and enjoyed it quite a bit.  It's stunning visually.  I'm a little too tired to dive into the plot, but I'd recommend paying attention and possibly a second viewing.

    BLUE VARIANT CRAZE!

This next round will require a little bit of thinking.  You will get to pick  THE RECORD OF YOUR CHOICE  from ANY WEBSITE!  There are just a few small requirements.  1) The record must have the color  BLUE in the variant description.  For example: Opaque Blue, Trans Blue, White with Blue Splatter, Clear & Blue Split, etc...  2) There is a price cap of $25 (before shipping) for your selection.  Simply post the record of your choice that meets the above requirements and where it's available.  The winner will be announced on the night of Thursday, September 12.  Good luck to all!

radiatorhums got a reaction from Rip in PO: Evil Dead (2013) OST
Evil Dead was easily the one horror franchise I didn't want touched regarding a remake.  I grew up watching the originals and still hold them in extremely high regard.  That being said, I enjoyed the 2013 remake a lot.  I felt that it stayed faithful enough to the originals, while still being it's own film.  I'd recommend going into it with a fairly open mind and it's a fun watch.  Far better than all the 'found footage' garbage that's become the new trend in horror movies.  Also, Jane Levy is a babe, so that doesn't hurt.

I don't remember the score at all and I've watched the film twice.  I'll have to check it out before I think about ordering.  I do love the locked groove for extended horror idea quite a bit.

http://www.omgvinyl.com/ does a pretty good job with announcing preorders for a lot of ambient / drone / experimental material, a lot of it goes real quick though.

Got my Neil Hamburger tape in the mail last week, it's pretty hilarious.  And yeah, snag a tape deck off eBay.  I got a really nice Nakamichi one for about $40, unfortunately shipping was about that much too.

Check out Monoliths, I'll think you'll like it.  That album and The Grimmrobe Demos are my two favorite releases by the band.

If I recall right, their whole discography is streaming on their bandcamp.  There's quite a bit to dig through.

I think this is just showing how sloppy they are in comparison to Mike (and Walt) and how they overlook details that could easily come back to haunt them.  That was what I got from it anyway.

Haha, they've gotten a little better!  I usually don't mind SL's prices because their packing is top notch and heavy duty.  Monoliths and Dimensions is a perfect example.  It was a little pricy, but I was really impressed with everything about that release.  The price tag stings a little less since they hold their value pretty well too.

That $55 LP deal is hard to beat is great.  I'd recommend making that Adebisi Shank album one of the 5, really fun instrumental band.

Just noticed someone else is reading Six-Gun Gorilla.  I'd highly recommend it, it's an interesting blend of sci-fi and wild west with a dash of reality TV.  Plus, as the title implies, there is a goddamn gorilla with a six gun!

I get that, I was mostly making a joke.  But, I would also doubt that SubPop is a label you need that extra layer of protection from getting ripped off.
