anyone have advice for getting tickets to shows that are going to sell out fast as fuck? I 1000% need to go to those Thursday shows in LA.

I'm trying to talk my friends into going to one of these cities.

Be ready before they go up. Keep refreshing. This one is a little bit more tricky because you have to buy tickets for two separate dates and hope the other doesn't sell out while you're checking out for the first one. I've always grabbed Brand New tickets no problem by just being ready the millisecond they go up? Grab one date and have another friend grab the other date at the same time?

I was a real asshole and kept shouting it out drunkenly as a request when I saw them.

Tim is a full supporter of getting plastered at shows.

At least you didn't request a song they already played like someone did at one of his solo shows... multiple times.

I've spent my weekend pretty under the weather with the damn flu. Just made it out of the house for a trip to the grocery store for the first time in a few days. Send some good vibes, friends.

The only 'out' I've gone in the past week is the pharmacy.

I did pick up a sick black Bah Humbug santa hat, though. Now I have a permanent addition to my wardrobe that will fully expresses how much I think Christmas is a garbage holiday.

Harley loves beer.  Of course I don’t let her actually DRINK it, but she likes to lick the openings of the cans or bottles when I have one.  And in this case, what’s left around the inside of the glass.

One of my cats is just like this. She comes running when she hears a can open.

Reddit has a nice postrock release list by month for 2017 for those into making lists and checking missed material (of which there is a goodly amount not mentioned here)

Postrock albums of 2017 as of December 9

Thank you for sharing this! I haven't been keeping up with instrumental music as much this year, and I have been wanting something cohesive to help me get back on it.

What were the stand-outs for you guys this year?

If anyone's curious the show itself was quite good but the venue was horrible. Overpacked and people were literally either talking through the quiet parts all around me or screaming so loud during the songs/singing along that I could barely hear the band.

I had a couple make out next to and in front of me the entire set, no exaggeration, and inch their way into my personal space on more than one occasion. I would have been happy with people talking through the quiet in comparison.

I thought it was a great show, though. I didn't have trouble hearing the band at all.
