I'm not saying we need to believe everything on the internet, but imagine a few hundred redditors decided to dig up literally everything they could find on the internet about you without you really permitting it (and obviously anything set to public is just that, but not meant for the level of intense scrutiny I can only imagine).   At this point nobody is really talking about this as a criminal case. If it did, this would be evidence. There is no need for 'detectives' to do their worst to discredit the victims (because I'm sure many of them are doing what you described, figuring out the truth, but even if 2% simply made it their duty to find a way to destroy her, it likely wouldn't be that hard).

I completely agree that this is intense and aggressive.

Jesse has not confessed to the specific allegations and nothing has come to light proving them to be true yet. We're about as clear on this as we were the day she made her first comment on FB. I just support the truth, and do not think that attacking neither alleged accused or the alleged victim is constructive.

What I get reading this thread is that a 15-16 year old human being is considered adult enough to drive a car and be responsible for other people’s life, BUT not enough to judge whether or not sending naked pictures to a stranger over internet just because he sings in your favourite band is a proper thing to do. One of the victims according to the Pitchfork article claims this kind of “sick” relationship went on until she was 22-23...still unable to judge?

It is easy to see it from this perspective being someone that has likely not been put into this kind of situation, the point is to not look at it from your own personal experience and what YOU would probably do, and open up to the experience they may have had.

These girls were mentally manipulated and coerced (at a young age where hormones are in full force and the brain is still very malleable) into doing these things that made them feel uncomfortable because it made them feel good that someone they admired was giving them attention. They most likely felt hurt during the entire span of these events but still wanted to be wanted by the person that was doing this to them (not unlike an unhealthy relationship between two consenting adults). Hindsight is, unfortunately, a requirement to see the total damage done in this types of situations as your vision is blurred and your mental clarity is compromised while you're being manipulated.

It doesn't matter how long "rock stars" have been doing this and no one is trying to give the death sentence. It's still not. okay. We're talking about it now, and reiterate myself, that is better than never.

In all seriousness it is kind of shitty that the rest of the band’s writing and performances – especially considering how long it took – has to suffer in both reputation and potential sales on account of 1 person’s life choices from a decade ago.  Not much of anything they can do, but still a bummer on their end.

He can have my three pennies that he would profit from my sale.

I can’t pretend like this hasn’t been 90% of what has entered my ear holes in the past three months.

Yes, that's technically correct. But outside medical diagnosis, here in the everyday real world, pedophiles are people who fuck kids. Technical distinctions about the exact age of pubescence aren't germane.

Here, in the everyday real world, when most people hear pedophile, they think something akin to mustachio creep-show sitting outside of an elementary school playground, not a guy in his twenties sexting with a girl in her mid-late teens. We also do not know that Jesse actually had sex with a minor. So. It still means sexual attraction to prepubescent children.

Anyone is free to use whatever term they chose, but "pedophile" still, literally, does not fit the bill here.

  5. It’s sticky when someone you’re close to confides in you and likely asks you not to tell anyone because they’re scared and/or they are still under the manipulated spell and the damage hasn’t fully set in yet. We don’t know these people didn’t try to take action behind closed doors to support the victims.

I think we can all get on board with the conversation happening now than not at all.

  6. For a group of grown men, there sure are a lot of drama queens in here.

I was skeptical of the validity of the claims as well until the statement was released, and I am a woman that has been put in more gross situations than any of you guys would think. It's not such a far fetched notion to acknowledge that anyone can say anything on the internet to gain attention/cause trouble. It's the easiest thing in the world to sit behind your keyboard in the comfort of your home and spread lies. It's also not such a far fetched notion to acknowledge that people we may admire such as Lacey and C.K. might be gross. I think anyone in here that was skeptical were keeping the door open to both possibilities until more information was provided.

    Move on. Thank you.

at this point the deluxe/super limited better be significantly worth it for how much they are deliberately keeping us in the dark. it was cute at first but now this is just annoying "typical BN BS"

There is like a week left in October, and they really didn’t plan what date they intend on getting these out?

I’m patient, it’s just blatantly obvious they want to be vague, and I don’t see the point in that.

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but I actually think my Deluxe edition is getting delivered today.

I keep a painfully accurate list of everything I order, including thing from Amazon etc. I randomly got an email from UPS MyChoice that I was going to have a package delivered, but then I was like "Wait what is it?" I have several packages in route but they're all from USPS and FedEX. I never got a notification directly from PMT for the CD either, and didn't for this, so I would imagine it's something they'd do. Also noteworthy is that it's 2-day air and I'm a cheap punk who would never buy that good of shipping. So maybe? I guess I'll destroy your hopes by the end of the day.

Where is it coming from. I have a pre-shipment on myUSPS. I am expecting this and another thing -- neither have sent me shipping confirmations.

    edit: It's not this.
