Last year was probably most memorable for me. Showed up with a friend at the local shop at about 2am, 4th and 5th in line. The 3 guys ahead of us in line were all pretty cool so we ended up bullshitting all night. When they needed to go grab food or stretch out for a walk or something it was always cool. We'd hold their place and they'd return the favor when we needed a break from sitting there. Ended up getting everything we were after that morning when the shop opened up. This year I showed up at 5am at a much smaller store expecting a much smaller turn out just to find 8 or 9 people already there. Said what's up, wished them luck and went back home to bed, haha.

Got to the store right before 5am to find a line of about 10. They only got 2 copies in. Long shot request if somebody could hook it up, that'd be pretty cool.

I find it best to keep Murhpy's Law in mind when thinking about finding/getting something on RSD.

If you really want it, go the night before and camp out. Make an experience out of it. Bribe your friends to come with you. Shoot the breeze with everyone else that lines up. Bring a book, bring a game, bring snacks. Enjoy it. If you don't feel like doing that, show up a few hours early and risk not getting it.
