  1. Hey Virgil! I take it that the 50 tour-only repress set aside for the site are already filled in the pre-order? I can assume as much now that when I clicke on the link for it, the page it goes to no longer has it listed. My powers of deduction are razor-sharp!
  2. Check out Brand New - Deja Entendu sometime. - Jeff I second that! Great record!
  3. Eh...I am a passive Smiths listener...never much cared for "The Moz"...but it is fun to make fun of him.
  4. I agree 50% with that one. I personally can't stand AM!...I just do not see what the big deal is about them...I have seen them numerous times here in Florida...not by choice...it's always as opening band...although I give them credit for putting on a good show and getting the crowd into it. But not for me...I just can't get into their music at all. I'm sure I've made enemies with half the board now. Oh well.
  5. I saw some of those last night as I had the winning bid on the Fear Before The March Of Flames 'Art Damage' signed pic disc... That Slugfest 7" is pretty darn tootin' awesome!
  6. It's green...I was trying to get a good angle for all of the colours to show up but some didn't...I'll blame the ceiling fan light right above the bed... FYI...the SH/BSF split that's 3rd from the left is on purple marble...only about 25 were made that way...and it was an error at the pressing plant.
  7. I have been buying record and even poster supplies/bags/etc. from Bags Unlimited. Which reminds me...I have to re-stock on 12" sleeves...
  8. Just snagged Fear Before The March Of Flames 'Art Damage' signed pic disc from an eBay auction by Suburban Home.
  9. seeing this live is the best. especially in Boston. I can only imagine. I have seen the Bosstones a shitload of times whenever they played down here in Florida...I am hoping and praying that they re-unite and I will make a special trip to Boston of they play up there...since I have been going to Beantown at least once a year for the past 10 years to visit friends, it will be an even more special trip!
  10. I was not aware that Asian Man was going to repress 'Goddamnit'....sweet!
  11. Thanks! Out of that whole set, my favorite one is the blood-splattered 'Love is Dead' 7"...according to R. Redcheeks, who put it together, he stapled his arm multiple times and dripped the blood on the acetate covers...Only 11 were made and #d for a show. Very, very, very morbid...but it's only rock n' roll!
  12. Sometimes it may the traffic the auction is getting...possible that the person who really, really, really wanted it saw his/her chance and bid that $200 price...not caring what condition it was in as long as they got it...
  13. I never thought of that at all! I'm gonna start bidding with random amounts now!
  14. Ok...here are some of mine...I was feeling left out... Split Lip / Chamberlain Ink & Dagger Endpoint (I forgot to include the 'Last Record' 10") Shai Hulud (also pictured the Zombie Apocalypse 7") Some of the colors didn't come out too well in the pics...as in the blue for Split Lip's 1st 7". The orange ZA 7" is a test press. The bottom two Shai Hulud 12" pic discs are the re-masters.
  15. Along with their cover of Bad Brains' 'FVK' Some other ones I like: Deftones - If Only Tonight We Could Sleep (The Cure) Nailbomb - Police Truck (Dead Kennedys) Sepultura - War (Bob Marley) Pennywise - Minor Threat (Minor Threat) Mighty Mighty Bosstones - What's At Stake (Slapshot) Sonic Youth - Superstar (The Carpenters)
  16. I've had my share of disasters from BCD orders...
  17. Some pretty damn impressive collections here so far...I am green with envy...=)...I will post pics of my more complete collections to date...although they are similar to supermandre's...(Shai Hulud and Endpoint)...and maybe some other ones...I'm at work right now wasting company time and money...Ha ha ha ha!
  18. Just a different color from the rest. As Virgil wrote...the "tour only" version is a color repress specifically for the band to take on tour as the 1st press sold out before the release date. So the band had nothing to take with them due to that...until now with the repress.
  19. It depends on the band for me...some bands I tend to dive headfirst into them when it comes to "discovering" them at a later time in their career...this has proven expensive at times...but if forced to narrow it down to a few: Endpoint & any other 90's Lousville, KY hardcore and punk Elliott Ink & Dagger Isis...slowly but surely Minus The Bear (most recent) White Zombie
  20. My mom feels the same way...and she even said that when I got the 4 colors for 'Planet of Ice' in the mail last week...
  21. Some great stories so far... My "true" musical journey began when we first moved to the States back in '86 (we moved from Venezuela) and the first "rock" record (or rather tape) that I bought was 'Apetite for Destruction'. I dove headfirst into heavy/hair metal...please forgive me guys! My parents were cool with it...they didn't mind it as long as I wasn't playing it too loud. A few years later we moved to Louisville, KY and luckily for me, this was during the time when there was a strong local hardcore/punk scene. For all intents and purposes, my first punk record (again, it was a tape) was Endpoint's 'If The Spirits Are Willing' which my friend Matt lent me. This blew me away. Endpoint was also my first true punk show that I attended. It was at that show that I bought my first piece of vinyl...it was split 7" by two local bands: Apocalypse and Transgression. This opened the floodgates for my exposure to hardcore and punk. I attended more and more shows and picked up any vinyl from all the bands in the area as at the time, that was the only way to get their music...other than tapes of course. My collection has grown quite a bit since then. I have picked up vinyl at cost but also off eBay and trading with other collectors. My parents don't really "get it" because sometimes they feel that I am wasting my money on this hobby...especially during a stretch when I was without a record player. At the end of the day, they don't really question it much as they know that I collect other things as well (Japenese toys, comic books..although not anymore, and concert posters/prints) and they know that I enjoy doing it and someday down the road it's all a potential monetary investment...although I am not looking forward to that day I have to sell my collection...I think I will cry! :'( Years later I was able to strengthen my bond with my dad when him and I went through his record collection that he had when he was younger. My uncle had kept it after my father moved out of their parents' house. It was cool to go through these with him...he had a bunch of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, and Cream records...I was blown away!...My dad was cool back in the day! Funny sidenote...I was listening to Minus The Bear 'Planet of Ice' in car the other day and my dad was with me. As it got towards the middle of 'Lotus', dad asked me, "Is this a Pink Floyd cd?"....(he had not been paying attention to the music earlier)...I found this amusing...
  22. Who did the artwork for the cover...it's very reminiscent to Pushead's style...unless it's actually him.
  23. Got something new...not vinyl...but new nonetheless...Minus The Bear 'Highly Refined Pirates'...the ex-girlfriend hijacked my original copy...so had to get a new one...
