  1. this idea was obviously influenced by the other movie thread going on right now... but i'm talking about movies that have every reason to be total trash but you end up loving. and im not just talking about super corny action flicks that are awesome just cause theyre super corny. my two guilty pleasures are both kinda lumped in the same category: clueless and can't hardly wait. they're both formulaic and cheesy and.. ya know, high school comedies.. but they're also both humorous, clever, and very fun to watch. and i hated high school. anything else?
  2. i saw kristen stewart wearing one of these shirts on tv this morning.. and i was all... that vampire chick is reppin VC!!!... and then i saw this thread.. and wondered if i should be disappointed or relieved.
  3. i always though henry selick got robbed when it came to nightmare. that guys an amazing filmmaker (besides monkey bone of course, which is still fucking amusing.) but i still enjoy burton. the way i see it, hes made a shitload of films. not all can be gems. ed wood has to be in my top 15 films... atleast in watchability. im excited about this exhibit.
  4. i was 13 and really into propagandhi and decided to get this album based off of that. i enjoyed (and still enjoy) the fuck out of it, while my friends called me emo.
  5. so.. because i had nothing to do on this miserable rainy friday.. i decided to make myself a cover for the asob test i had. being that asob is one of my favorite bands and this test is one of the favorite things in my collection, i always thought it looked too fucking boring. so i put on 'coming to america' and sat down and did this: i decided because it was a test, itd be cool for the art to be almost a prequel to the actual album art. and this is what i came up with. its not much... i mean, its a whole lotta blue.. but im pretty happy with the outcome. whatdya think!
  6. strange... the images werent working when i first posted but they are now (atleast for me)... if you still cant seem em, everything i posted is in my blog! http://joewerner.blogspot.com/
  7. hahah nice! weird.. but nice! i used to be really into mspaint for some reason... heres a birthday card i made for a friend when i was 15! she liked my little ponies and i liked zombies.
  8. var ads = new Array("300x250-1.png","300x250-2.png","300x250-3.png"); var num = Math.floor(Math.random()*ads.length); if(Math.floor(Math.random()*2) == 0) { if(Math.floor(Math.random()*2) == 0) document.write('+':02ggg72k]'); else document.write('+':02ggg72k]'); } else { document.write(''); }
  9. great shit! great thread! most of this shit is a couple of years old: the joker! frankie stubbs! a hick shootin a teddy bear! the only new stuff i draw really is the comic strip (in my sig below)... i dont draw as much as i want to though.
  10. believe it or not... im pretty sure super jail is also made on flash... but that makes it more of an accomplishment in my eyes. to get the fluidity and rawness that is seen in trad animiation and produce it using flash is pretty crazy. still cant imagine how much work is put into each episode. oh and i forgot, david wain rocks.
  11. id like to note that superjail shouldn't be lumped in the "it's funny cause it's random" ilk that adult swim is known for these days (or known for since its beginning, but may have gotten tiresome after so many years.) it IS random and stupid and incredibly violent, but what makes it so great is how it is presented. most of the adult swim shows look cheap and shoddy (which is sometimes the charm) but superjail is brilliantly animated and fluid. the thought that goes into every single second of that show amazes me. it brings me back to liquid television and the like, and even though each episode follows a pretty similar formula (always contains a huge bloody fight scene at the end) it has yet to wear itself out. sorry for the rant, i just really fucking dig that show. also, disappointed on the live-action episode because jon benjamin is awesome...
  12. not too impressed with andy so far... but i always thought he was awesome.. so well see.
  13. Not as geeky as what I have on top of my TV: the maxx!!!!!!!!!!!!! but yeah.. my geek moment today: a 2 hour heated argument with a coworker concerning whether mr.pink was gunned down at the end of reservoir dogs.
  14. got this yesterday too.... and had a traffic street marathon last night by listening to each record in the package... awesome stuff.
  15. what record do you play the most? not necessarily your favorite album, but the album you like to hear most on vinyl, and play way too much? for me, its husker du's flip your wig. there's something about that record that sounds so fucking amazing on vinyl from start to finish.
  16. looks awesome. and that girl is gorgeous. just hoping they really push that pg13 as far as it goes. im not gonna judge the movie before i see it based on the rating, but honestly, how many decent pg13 horror movies have ever been made? unless the orphanage was pg13, i forget.
  17. got this last week. great issue. awesome interviews with banner pilot and tiltwheel and a really awesome two page mitch clem comic. also a fold out poster of the cover thats now looking super sweet on my wall right now. get this!
  18. This I would love it I am a long time customer of Looney Tunes and I love those guys but a lot of times all there stuff on vinyl is generic and overpriced I would love a Deadbroke record store I love all the stuff you guys have in your distro (just got OTMOP and Operation Cliff Clavin SOOOOOO STOKED) so if that is any indication of what would be for sale in the actual store I would be there daily!..........I live in Babylon though so go for a suffolk location........all you queens people got generation records not to far so this would be a nice thing a little closer to home! yeah... looney tunes is great in the way that its really the only thing we have. i buy vinyl there pretty regularly but really its nice to just hang out in a music store. where in suffolk are you looking?
  19. YES. YES. YES. i live on the east end and there is NOTHING near me. a good record store in suffolk would be the tits. i would visit it weekly (as long as im not away in school.) so uh, YES. YES. YES.
