yeah moon is sweet - i went into knowing very little, and thats how i would recommend it for everybody. sam rockwell was beyond amazing in the role as well. and yeah, out of all the recent dc animated films, i think i would put red hood at the top.. with superman/batman in a close second.

for those of you who have netflix - what are your favorite movies (or shows) on instant watch? its always nice to see something on the whim recommended by another heres some of the stuff i watched recently and really enjoyed: exit through the gift shop (as amazing as everyone says it is...) batman: under the red hood peewee herman's big adventure (havent seen it in years until it was on instant watch - seriously one of my favorite movies) moon the good, the bad, and the weird the state: complete series the devil's backbone

scott - when i get the GCs, VC was a huge distro. 2 months later - we all knew what happened. that was tough shit on my part. so i emailed him, let him know my situation, and he responded fairly quickly telling me he would be happy to work something out (along the lines of transfering the credit to interpunk.) that didnt work out, so he told me to send a list of the shit i would want from the auction list. i did. twice. no response. i also DID use up alot of the GCs on stuff I usually wouldn't purchase just to make the situation easier. and i NEVER asked for any money back - just to work something out. its the complete lack of response. Why? Cause I basically told the kid to fuck off? If that's the case then you're absolutely correct. The poster didn't want to do anything but whine, get a bunch of sympathy comments that mean squat in the long run, and drum up animosity against Virgil which is nothing new and everybody is sick of reading about anyway. Any of the actual solutions that have been proposed in this threat the guy could have come up with on his own if he spent two minutes thinking about it... instead of spending 10 minutes typing up his sob story. So fuck off to him and his gift cards. wrong wrong wrong wrong. the main reason (which i mentioned in the original post) was to hopefully get virgil's attention. ive seen it happen here before - someone sends virgil a countless amount of emails - gets no response - makes a thread - and there he is. and frankly, i do think its a shitty situation, and thats fine if you dont care, but i DID get some helpful comments - i honestly didn't think anybody would be interested in the GCs at this point - but now i do - so im going to sell some.

yeah thanks thats a good idea. i haven't checked but is there still anything left in the VC distro at this point? yeah - its a little disheartening. i supported VC for 2 years - i thought that the gift cards would be an awesome gift for me, as well as a cool way for my parents and brothers to support a company I loved. its a real bummer. yeah this doesn't make that much sense. if a friend of yours gave you x amount of money for a birthday gift or something - and somebody took it - should you 'shut the hell up' because it was a gift? that money is now yours. also - its virgil getting away with $200 thats not his - theres nothing fair about this situation.

Okay so heres the issue: Last Christmas, my mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I suggested a vc gift card. Ive been a loyal vc customer for about 2 years at that time, and I knew it would have been more useful than the rush hour special edition 3-pack dvd set I got the year before (she may be clueless but she means well.) So, apparently, as this is all I told her, when anyone asked her advice as to what to get me last year, she said vc gift cards. By the end of Christmas, I had about $250 in vc credit. I went on a shopping spree, getting the stuff I’ve been waiting to pick up after the holidays, and then I saved the rest. A couple of months later... vc wasn’t a distro anymore. So with about $200 of store credit left over, I emailed virgil, telling him about the situation. He told me he’d be able to transfer the GCs over to interpunk if necessary, but he’d prefer I spent some of it at the VC store. Even though I picked up all I really wanted by then, I tried to use some of it up with some stuff I was a bit interested in or curious about. Then I heard nothing from virgil for a month or 2. Finally, after a few emails, he let me know that the whole relationship with interpunk wasn’t what he expected, and that he would prefer if I used up some of the GCs on his auction site and then we could “work out something” with the rest of it. I was a bit bummed, but my thought at the time was ‘it is what it is.’ I knew he was getting in a bit deep with labels and such, so I wasn’t gonna make a huge stink about it – plus, he was attempting to work things out – even in an untimely fashion. But then – no response again. Not even to the list I sent him. This was the summer. Since then, I haven’t gotten one response, even with the persistent emails. I’ve always been respectful, kind, and totally up for working something out… but at this point, it seems like hes making away with $200 for nothing. Obviously, its been over a year since it happened – I always considered posting it on the board, but I felt weird about it. One, it wasn’t really my money, but they were gifts purchased for me and the situation seems pretty unfair. Two, I realized labels (that I personally respect) might be getting fucked over way more than I am, and I felt like my situation was a bit petty in comparison. And three, I don’t really want this to explode into a virgil-hate-fest live ive seen previously. But maybe this is a way to get his attention, or get some advice from you guys on what I should do. Was it just bad timing and am I totally fucked? I don’t know, I just wish I’d get a response. (wow.. didn’t mean to make it this long, sorry.)

yeah you're right. i was mistakenly comparing it to the first half of season 14 a.k.a. i thought the episodes from last march/april were season 13 for some reason oh... well then yeah... totally backed.

yeah right! -margaritaville -eat, pray, queef -fishsticks (kayne epiosde) -fatbeard (somalian pirates episode) -W.T.F. (that's not wraaastling!) five GREAT fucking episodes.. which isnt much, but its been 13 years with the same 2 writers.. i still consider it impressive. last nights episode was the only of the season that i remember fully enjoying throughout.. (with the exception of the "200" episodes.. which were full of awesome references but not really that memorable.)

i decided about about a week ago that warning device by teenage bottlerocket is my PERFECT album - solid all the way through. it acts like an upper drug for me (i listen to it way too much.) but before a week ago, it was probably paul baribeau - grand ledge.

yeah.. he looked real cool... but thats not enough to win me over. dude cant act for shit. the only thing i liked him in was scott pilgrim... where he was playing a bad actor.

if they used Hush they would have to totally change around the story... or figure out a way to introduce batman's entire rogue gallery in 2 and a half hours. also, it would be a bit risky to use a villain that's relatively new (2003?) for a comic book that's been around for since the 40's. to bring back ra's ah ghul, they'd have to reference the fact that he's already centuries old and never dies because he uses the lazarus pit. but again, kind of fucks with the realistic tone of the first two movies. using the holiday killer would connect this movie pretty nicely with BB, as the long halloween/dark victory had a lot to do with gotham's mob scene. the villain (who will rename nameless for those who haven't read the books.. but should cause they're amazing) is totally credible and fits in with the gritty/realistic tone already established. plus, these books deal with batman as a detective, solving a mystery... something that hasn't really been explored yet. so i guess my vote goes towards the holiday killer. then again, i remember way back when they announced BB, i was confused/disappointed at the choice of villains, and we all saw how that turned out. so i have faith in nolan.

i don't know. there's a rumor that nolan wants to use killer croc, but i don't think that fits in with the tone of the first two movies at all. BB and DK transcended comic book movies by injecting some hardcore realism into what was a billionaire dressed up in a silly bat suite. i think they should save the cartoonish characters to uh.. the cartoons. DC has been pretty spot-on with their direct-to-dvd animated movies where they kind have more room to explore the more "comic book" villains. its hard to imagine who'll they'll bring in now, as nolan was going to use joker in the third film before ledger died. i could see a return of two face or ra's al ghul. but i have a couple of dream scenarios. like using the holiday killer from the long halloween. or even hush. these villains aren't that known outside of comic book readers, but they have great stories behind them none the less. or what if the movie was set 30-40 years into the future a la The Dark Knight Returns. bruce comes out of retirement to witness a totally fucked and decaying gotham city... and to battle the joker one last time (solved the casting problem right there.) alright... /nerd rant.
