Dumb list.  The best reissues are done by good reissue labels like Analogue Productions or ORG Music.  I bet most of those on that list were pressed from the CD master.

It's not different mastering. Those were pressed from the same metal parts as the standard release (which is way friggin' expensive too!). I know because I've owned multiple copies of both. Same exact matrix info all the way down to the handwriting and font size. While we're wishing upon a star, I'd like to see their entire catalogue get a 45rpm audiophile treatment from a reissue group like Analogue Productions. Maybe mastered by Kevin Grey. That would be the holy grail of wax!

Well, I just bit the bullet and ordered a pair of B&W CM10 S2 speakers. I'll let everyone know how the breakup with my girlfriend goes.

Why are you even considering 4mwb when Mobile Fidelity has such an amazing Miles Davis series out right now?  Most of them are better than the originals (and cheaper too).

Album is a solid 8/10, really enjoy it for all its roughness. It's got a fairly unique sound too, not sure of any bands that really sounded like this.  Also glad it's coming out in time for halloween, I picked apples to this when I was 13 and had the best time ever. Now I can get cozy with a cup of apple cider and have a blast.

I never understand those megathreads. Not everyone has the time to sort through pages of releases they aren't interested in to finally find one they are. I have missed a few Mondo releases because I don't have time to sort through pages of Rooks bragging about his collection or that Timbrh dude being a self obsessed ass, among other useless stuff. The fact that everyone here seems to support those kinds of threads baffles and irritates me.Rad, hoping for an accidental price drop though

I would kill for a vinyl release of Our Lady Peace - Clumsy or Happiness is not a fish or Spiritual Machines. I grew up on OLP I'm so happy that I got to see them in concert they were amazing live it was like in 2002 In Ottawa. I also love Matthew Good Band vinyl releases would be spectacular I'm a fan of his solo work but there was just something about The Matthew Good Band's Albums that were special.

It is really only Clumsy and Naveed that I remember enjoying as a kid. I feel like at that time, just before they broke in the US, they were on par with MGB and Sloan commercially.
Sloan was distributed by Universal for a number of years around that time.

JumpingBean reacted to Sidney Crosley in 90s Canadian Alternative/CanRock on Vinyl Thread
It's funny how in the 90s there wasn't too obvious a line between the commercial Canadian stuff and the indie stuff, because all of it was fighting for exposure and airtime. I don't think that OLP would necessarily be lumped in with all the same other bands we've been mentioning, but I mean, they were on a major label just like Transistor Sound and Lighting, the Rheostatics, and Sloan (they had a major attached to them, right? Or was it all murderecords?). Also, growing up, I don't think there was really a way to notice which bands were more independent than others, especially the way it feels now.  I listened to Clumsy recently, and other than the nostalgic factor, it doesn't feel any more produced than most of the music of the era (their later albums sounded more polished and plain), and it definitely holds up.

How about some early Our Lady Peace? Good nostalgia factor there.

"How is that ridiculous at all? It's an audiophile 3LP set mastered by Bernie Grundman and pressed at Pallas.
ORG's single LP releases sell for 30.00 each. This is a bargain."

Upgrades. The previous owner wanted $250. I talked him down to $200. When I went to check it out, there was some crackling and one of the channels was cutting in and out so we went down to $150.
Turns out the balance pot just needed to be cleaned. Thanks DeOxit!

    Bought my first system yesterday:

    Project Debut Carbon
    Marantz PM6005
    Wharfedale Diamond 220
    Atacama Moseco 6 Speaker Stands
    QED Cabling

I made a bit of a mistake in not doing my research on the speaker/stand combo and have had to order a larger top plate for the stands so the speakers sit comfortably. Only bought some fairly basic cabling as well so will need to have a look into that at some point. As I purchased on Record Store Day I'm also able to claim a free Spin Clean Record Washer System.

Overall I'm fairly happy with my purchases and I'm glad I read the various threads on here instead of going out and buying a Crosley, so cheers for the advice people!
