  1. I don't hate it (I also don't like it), but I doubt I'll ever listen to it again when the rest of their discography is far superior.  To me it just seems like they lost the most crucial layer of their sound, the intricate guitar parts.  Almost every song feels like it's missing what has made so many of their songs so special.  The ambience is completely different.

That's fair but I don't think I could even sit through their first LP. I just miss something like the Picture of a Tree suite or Mount Hum that actually explore soundscapes... I've been in love with this band since the demo they've always had their own corner in the scene but this record just feels like another face in the crowd.

This came out in 2013 it's Nicole, Katie, and Josh from TWIABP with a different drummer. It's clear why Twiabp sound the way they did https://onehundredyearocean.bandcamp.com/track/cig-life

I'm pretty sure Nicole wrote every riff/guitar part I have ever loved in twiabp's songs.  So many beautiful sounds!!!

To elaborate on the subject, I think you are getting caught up in the intent of the purchase. To me, that's irrelevant, if you buy with the intent to flip, or buy as a fan only to see a good market for re-sale and decide later on to engage in the profits I see no difference.

There is also the reasoning for entering the secondary market:

"I'm cashing in to pay for my dying mother's cancer treatment" --- good for you, hope she gets better

"I'm cashing in because I saw market demand and I can ask unreasonable prices" -- screw you, asshole flipper

Officially don't have any expectations at all for this record anymore. Both songs completely lack the atmosphere and guitar tones that made me love this band. Even with all the new instruments and ideas it just feels so fucking flat. It isn't technically bad but whatever... the band only has like 2 members from their original core lineup anyways and it's very noticeable.

Yeah, I am over them.  I have never loved David as vocalist, to be honest his voice probably annoys me more often than not.  Whenever, If Ever has  really resonated with me, but that's probably because it came out during my first year of university and I had it on repeat for a year straight.  Good memories, etc.  I fell in love with Formlessness when it came out, and I still believe the Deer Leap split is their peak, by a mile.  Those four songs are amazing.
