Sunn O))) - Black One (Repress)
Greystash replied to Greystash's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Ok, that's true. I always love their artwork, the "heavyness" and thickness etc.. Best example for a label with relatively high prices (at least here in Europe), shitty packaging and not even including DL-codes is KRANKY. It's a fucking shame because they have so many great releases. Anyway, back to topic -

German VCers, Frankfurt record stores?
Greystash replied to xfactor675's topic in Everything Else Message Board
IMO you definitely chose the wrong city in Germany. Frankfurt is flooded with record stores whose shelfs are filled to 90 % with used 80's-releases. If you're in Sachsenhausen, you can check out Sick Wreckords and No. 2. They're both in the same street. I don't know what kind of music you enjoy. No. 2 has kind of every genre and Sick Wreckords has its focus on Punk, Garage, Rockabilly... Oh, and Freebase Records moved to Sachsenhausen last year, aswell. They're no. 1 in terms of electronic music and pretty close to the other 2 stores. In Bornheim you have Lucky Star Records but I've only payed them once a visit, so I can't really tell you anything about them. Sadly enough most records I bought in a store in Frankfurt was at Saturn, which is a gigantic electronic store chain. Their stuff is overpriced but I found some cool stuff there (Earth - AoD,DoL (green), Efrim Menuck - High Gospel etc.). You can find the store at MyZeil. -
Writing off bands with stupid names
Greystash replied to suchashorttime's topic in Everything Else Message Board
I almost wrote off the band TOY but I checked them out because the rest of the line up at Paredes de Coura was pretty weak. What a great band! -
Any german guys around here?

Greetings from Frankfurt! -
Jesus, if I saw that shirt somewhere I'd buy the hell out of it regardless of the size...I couldn't even find pictures on the Ithica-Forum but at least I could find some posts mentioning the Mogwai vs Batman shirts, so they have to exist! Yeah, I read about Martin not being able to tour with the guys in the States. Wasn't he substituted by the Error's drummer? I definitely need to see the guys again! The last really, really loud show I saw was Swans in Frankfurt. But I was sick at that time and had to leave the concert earlier... Btw: Has this been mentioned here? http://instagram.com/p/col62wxMY_/ Edit: haha just saw that they're playing in February again in Frankfurt! Score

My favorite band! Saw them 4 times now (3 times at the same venue). They definitely "lost their loudness". The last two times I saw them (2011) you could listen to their show w/o earplugs etc. The first time I saw them it was so incredibly loud...when they played "Satan" and the drums kicked in towards the end of the song I thought my heart would stop beating. haha Anyway: I'm getting a longboard and it doesn't have any stupid stuff painted on it. So I was thinking to leave it as it is or let someone paint something on it. I remember the band having a Batman-Mogwai-Shirt/Hoodie ages ago but I can't find any pictures. The only one I could find is this here: But if I remember correctly they used this Batman-logo (or a similar one): Does anyone have more info, a picture etc. (or did I just dream about that stuff)?

Is Vol. 6 the last one? I loved the first 2(~3) TPBs but they kind of lost with me Vol. 4. Maybe I'll give it another try when I return from my holidays. It's actually exactly the opposite of how I feel about Sweet Tooth. I thought that the first 2 TPBs were ok at best but the 3rd one was so good and now I love this series (and Lemire)!

What video games have you been playing?
Greystash replied to jayeffscene's topic in Everything Else Message Board
Awesome, man! I think my Oliver is something between level 56 and 58. Do you mean by saying "I played as 1 character" that you played only Oliver and never used your familiars? I never use my familiars during boss battles but I never thought of being the healer in the group and let the others fight. Maybe I'll try it! But this also reminds me that I have insufficient mana and hp supplies (about 20 of each) which means that I'll have to leave the dungeon and make the whole walkthrough again... My favourite RPGs are: Final Fantasy VII and IX. I need to play them again! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaC_xP6esJE so good! -

What level were your characters when you beat the game? Yesterday I tried beating the game. The white witch was no prob but those Zodiarchs raped my whole party in a few seconds...I'm just sick of grinding -

Seeing them on 3rd of September with Birds in Row. Let's see what they'll have at the merch table -
Man, I really like those pics! Nice work! Actually I'm a crappy photographer but I only use the camera when I'm hiking (~every 2 years or so). So anyone into landscape photography? If so, please post pictures! Here are 4 of my favorites taken during hiking trips: Note: I'm not 100% sure that I took the next 2 pictures. We were 3 guys and two of us were taking pictures with the same camera...

Tubeplus.me works on ps3. I use it to watch king of the hill all the time. -
I wonder who decided about that track order... Well, it might work on a CD

Constellation Records posted this on Facebook: "NEW RELEASE: ESMERINE - 'DALMAK' In stores September 3, available for pre-order now" http://cstrecords.com/cst096/ PACKAGING NOTES CD comes in a custom gatefold jacket printed on thick 24pt. paperboard with a printed CD dust sleeve. LP is pressed on 180 gram virgin vinyl at Optimal (Germany) and comes in a heavyweight jacket with black poly-lined audiophile dust sleeve, credit insert, pull-out art poster and download code for 320 kbps MP3 copy of the album. There's also a new song streaming on the site and it just blew me away. Actually that's one of the best Esmerine-tracks I've heard! Also: Constellation Records is imo the best label when it comes to packaging and artwork!

Best/Worst Customer Service from a Distro/Label?
Greystash replied to silentgods's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Anyone from Europe ever dealt with all_your_music on Ebay? They're based in California, have pretty low prices and they only charge about 3 Euros to ship to Germany (which I think is pretty odd...also the prices are shown in GBP). Well, my actual question is: How's their packaging job? Since it's a pretty long way for the record to arrive here I don't want to spend so much money on a new cereal bowl. -
Hm don't know what to think about this. I don't play online frequently on my PS3 (Last time I played online was a little bit of Killzone 3 and coop-action in Borderlands 2 with a friend). I guess it'll depend on the price.
