The Flyying Colours EP's Comp sounds really good, I'm pleased to have this as a listening copy.

I had to make the Mandarin Orange variant on 'scogs,  so Poison City must have a tonne of these and the Vanilla flavor still in their shoppe.

If you like Ride: "Seagull" but pushed up a notch in loudness and tempo, you will like at least half of Flyying Colours. They have some jangliness along with the tremolo and loud guitars and noise as well.

Ride  has always sounded to me as more on the pop end of the spectrum (Stadium BritPop) at least partly due to Andy's rather common guitar solos.

Mine got delivered to my old address and I think got returned to sender but I can’t get Poison City to answer me.

55+ hour work-weeks or not, I think that's a great decision. 👍 Have you seen what some of the OG presses of those albums are fetching these days?  No way you or anyone else are obtaining those records for cheaper anytime soon.  Glad you grabbed it because it seems like there are very few configurations / choices left for that set.

Someone uploaded pics of this variant on Discogs, and they're indeed clear.  Which still have an understated beauty, but yeah – adjust expectations accordingly, etc.

Yeah I’m going with the green splatter.  Between that and just clear I’ll take the splatter.

the grey would have been perfect.  Clear doesn’t not match but it’s kind of boring.  I’ll go with the more interesting variant in the case of neither really being a great match.

If I were in your shoes, I’d 100% go with the clear Duster box.  (That cloudy green mess is a no-go.)  Can’t beat the sharp aesthetic of clear vinyl with monochrome packaging on the box itself, and it fits with the individual jackets a lot more than the green does.

For Codeine, you can’t lose with either choice.  They’re both great picks.

(None of this factors in potential rarity, if that’s something that drives your decision.  If so, I’d provably grab whatever is not featured in bundles.)

    Just my 2¢.

Yeah I was leaning toward Diamond Clear and Almost Green variants for each one.  While I wouldn’t mind a clear variant, the Diamond clear appears almost gray which is perfect

    What a standup bloke.

I actually missed out on the black-orange variant of Vol. 4 and never quite cared enough to track one down.   I was fortunate enough to grab all the numbered, analog strip editions of the expanded reissues a few years back and that's something I can be happy enough with.  I'll still roll the dice here but I'm not holding my breath, and am definitely not gonna' lose sleep over it or drop $100+.

I got a Vol 4 but missed out on the obi strip on Transient.  Still hate that I missed on that one

Same.  I have historically bad luck with raffles regardless – I don't think having 5 more entries "on my side" would tilt my woefully grim chances.  Plus, if they decide to print the winners' name inside the gatefold – sort of like they did last time – I'd feel really weird about having my buddy's or girlfriend's name in there for good.

That’s why my best friend named “Your Name Here” is going to enter for me.

Seems fair on paper but there's no doubt people who are going to exploit the raffle by having friends or family enter for them.  I doubt anyone is going to scrutinize the entry list and check for last names within the same zip codes... but even then, there's nothing to stop me from asking 7-8 of my non-vinyl friends to all join the raffle with their own info.

That’s what I was thinking too.  But I’m not even going to bother trying to cheat the system.  If I win great, if not fine

    What original comment?

i was responding to someone else who said the following (literally copied and pasted from their comment)

“some guy admitted to me he is just buying and flipping and i said people dont like that and he said he was a hero because hes buying records and selling them to fans that want them, that couldnt get them, …”

Not all heroes live outside of their mother’s basement.
