  1. I wonder how many were pressed. I saw a flipper advertising "only 1000 copies" (which, if true would be a logical step towards catering for the demand Ty Segall records fetch) but I remember the recent pink repress of his S/T was an edition of 500 and took a few weeks to sell out.
  2. That would have been cool but so far we're 2 for 2 on clear! I wonder if they'll keep that up. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned online anywhere but we were told that Thee Oh Sees' 3 night residency at the chapel was being recorded for a live LP (I attended the second night). I'm guessing/hoping that will be next in the series.
  3. According to the newsletter: PINK - HALF PEPTO PINK, HALF COKE BOTTLE GREEN - 600 copies PURPLE - A SIDE GRAPE SODA, B SIDE FRENCH VANILLA - 600 copies RED - ULTRA CLEAR WITH STRAWBERRY HAZE - 300 copies
  4. Could be that black is the retail variant, which would be good news if he's waiting for it in store. It also looks like the strawberry haze vol. 3 is back in stock for anyone that missed it earlier this morning.
  5. I'm fairly certain I recall Castle Face saying they were doing something special (the lenticular cover) with White Fence because it was their first live in SF release. I had a hunch Fuzz + Oh Sees would go up overnight so I set an alarm for 4AM Sydney time and I'm glad it paid off, starting work at 7 wouldn't have been as fun with an interrupted sleep and no records. I picked up the "ultra clear with strawberry haze" singles collection as well which looks to be sold out now.
  6. I was in LA recently and won tickets to their secret show last month. The other secret shows were small and intimate so I brought a record along just in case and although it turned out to be a larger venue than expected (outside the Capitol records building) we just hung around afterwards and were eventually able to meet and talk to each band member besides Regine.
  7. Besides Jeff Mangum, the band members that contributed to Aeroplane had nothing to do with "On Avery Island". So as much as I love the record it wouldn't have meant as much to have it signed by the full band. Between Neutral Milk Hotel, Arcade Fire and Mikal Cronin I've managed to meet my top 3 bands/artists on the Merge roster within the past month:
  8. Cool, thanks for the info. The yellow looks real nice and it's such a great album.
  9. Got a partial refund for my first order through PayPal. I don't think they refunded the difference in shipping costs but I'm not going to lose any sleep over $3.
  10. Is that your copy wildflange? If there's been any secret developments regarding this release I'd greatly appreciate a pm. The new White Fence LP has me in need of more live garage goodness.
  11. ^ yep that's the magic of the cover (the video must be flipped because they're all right handed on the actual sleeve) Here's a photo of the record itself, I snapped the B side because that tracklist is killer:
  12. I'd say so, I'm really happy with how the overall package turned out and there's a lot of fun to be had with that lenticular cover (I must have tilted it back and forth at least a dozen times while listening). If it helps in your decision-making at all I'll make good on those photos tomorrow morning, for now it's time to hit the hay!
  13. This happened to me once when I ordered a used copy of Paul McCartney's Ram. By the time it arrived the record had been remastered and rereleased and I'd already given up and bought a copy of that instead. I've always had good experience receiving parcels from the US though. My most recent order from Castle Face arrived in a matter of 5 days.
  14. Do Urban ever do multiple colours for a record? I bought a copy of "Why There Are Mountains" by Cymbals Eat Guitars off an eBay seller and the record is yellow. I'm fairly certain the listing mentioned it was an Urban Outfitters exclusive colour but it was so long ago and I haven't been able to dig up any other information on the pressing.
  15. Received this today, incredibly clear vinyl and some sizzling guitar solos to boot. Only 2 songs in but I'm loving it so far, a very nice post-work comedown. I'll post some pictures in the morning.
  16. Well seeing as my 2nd order was a single item (4LP boxset) they cancelled my entire order and refunded that amount + shipping. I've yet to receive a partial refund on the 3/6 records that didn't make the cut on my first order.
  17. Just had my second order cancelled even though the records were still in stock a few days after I placed the order. I received a paypal refund at the same time as cancellation however I'm still waiting on a refund on the records cancelled from my first order if anyone else who ordered via paypal was wondering.
  18. Yeah, I'd also like to throw out a thanks to Mark for helping me out earlier and taking the time to update us all amidst such a huge sale.
  19. My order shipped and I'll be receiving 3/6 (no Department of Eagles, Kurt Vile or Atlas Sound Unfortunately). Out of the records I'll be receiving, one is a 7" and the remaining 2 were more of an afterthought to the initial (and now cancelled) items in my cart so I kind of regret jumping on this so eagerly considering the cost of shipping to Australia kind of negates the savings on what's left of my order Still glad to see that a lot of you picked up some great deals and I know I'll enjoy the Akron / Family LP coming my way.
  20. PREORDER! SHIPS IN EARLY/MID JANUARY!!! TRACK LISTING: I’m Not Feeling Human Suite One: Memories of Jacqueline 1906 / The Giant Day / Outer Themes / Green Typewriters b/w Suite Two: Frosted Ambassdor / Green Typewriters / The Princess Turns the Key to Cubist Castle / Looking for Meaning 1997 was a big year for The Olivia Tremor Control. They were riding high on the release of their debut double album “Dusk At Cubist Castle,” and touring the world relentlessly. During a visit to the UK in March, illustrious tastemaker DJ John Peel requested the band to visit his studios to record for his radio show. Seventeen years later, “John Peel Session” is released. “John Peel Session” features a couple never-before-released songs amidst the three tracks. A radio session that has been officially licensed from the BBC, this is continued evidence of a band that is in further need of celebration. Features: First 200 copies available on clear vinyl Red vinyl available exclusively thru Chunklet mailorder Cut direct to lacquer at Chicago Mastering Service Pressed at RTI Officially licensed through the BBC 45rpm 12” record housed in a Stoughton tip-on jacket Includes download code http://www.chunklet.com/store/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_id=116
  21. Love the photos on the back haha. Is the vinyl coloured or will that be Castle Face exclusive as usual?
  22. Thanks for the heads up, I'll be keeping a close eye on their site/my inbox until this drops. I wonder if that's all the band played on the night or whether Castle Face just chose to cut or didn't record the full set.
  23. Has anyone had any international shipping notice? I've yet to hear anything about either of my orders.
  24. Origami Vinyl posted to facebook and twitter that they'll be retailing for $40. Hopefully they show up in the online store a little cheaper, they were only $30 at the shows I think. https://twitter.com/OrigamiVinyl/status/401491399398264832
