I obsessively keep track of all my paid orders, spreadsheet style. I've had to call out some never received. I'd like to set it and forget it but it's not possible, now that I have literally thrown money into a void, I have to be vigilant. Probably wouldn't happen with Frank Ocean. Probably.

Months long preorders with little to no updates are poorly planned or deliberately obtuse. both are bullshit. just say it'll take 6 months from the get go. stop unnecessary paypal cases and just be transparent about wait times from the start.

When most of the vapor vinyl happens to come from countries other than the US, the group buys are definitely welcome. I'm actually a little shocked one guy took it upon himself to round up buyers, contact labels, collect payments correctly and pack up 30 records every so often, simply because he wants to spread it out. Maybe he gets a free record or something but in any case I applaud all his effort. How would that help? Then there would be two vapor threads, talkin bout the same thing.

Every time someone brings this up, I think about Amazon selling Bowie records for 11 bucks shipped, and just wonder how it would ever work.

Turned out way less ugly than I thought. The vinyl's a lot more muted than the mockup which is probably for the best - translucent gold w/ ocean blue splatter is totally fine, cuz that ain't no teal. The cover clearly has teal. But as you can see much more clearly @TheDuke that this is not what is associated with Wax Mage /25 specialty designs.

Right, but that just looks like a splatter. I think it'd be misleading at this point to say that's a Wax Mage, I don't mean to nitpick but we learned that some pages ago. Compare your mock-up picture and Ethereal's phone picture of the record in his hand, the difference is huge. Nomad Eel (also pressed at this place) glow in the dark w/ splatter looks great and has the same alt cover - not wax mage, though.

I haven't received that one yet but wasn't it said that this one, like Nomad Eel, were pressed by Gotta Groove but weren't the signature wax mage lookin records? The only ones I knew of were the RAINN Charity one and Ethereal's. I did get Nomad Eel and it wasn't that type.

Wouldn't be a HelloMerch code floating around, would there? Search doesn't help me. In the past I've made more than one cartful of stuff from hellomerch but never checked out for one reason or another. This might be the one.

Well I don't mean to make this thread about the value of subscription services, I'm sure it's worth it and it's quality work, and I don't know enough about it except what I see on the outside. I'm just excited to have more math rock in the collection because I really don't have much. G?G!'s split with Goddard is all I have of theirs, I only have a couple other pseudo-rarities like Lava Land and Trees Swallow Houses.

Usually the records you're going to receive aren't known at point of subscription, right? Topshelf website says so. Giraffes! Giraffes! is more interesting than a lot of bands, and if they're enticing new subscribers, maybe they'd have an easier time if they just reveal what the big winky face secret is.

I would strongly, strongly discourage ordering from VaporTapes. As far as anything I have heard, if you even get anything in the mail, it will sound terrible. I have not ordered from them but they have been disavowed by Blank Banshee and had to take down that boot, the label publicly called them out and offered replacement tapes to those who bought one. Remember - this is if you even receive something. There's a comment right on the bandcamp that says 'where's my shit' so there you go. EDIT: Here's the Discogs page for the Eccojams boot, comments pretty much line up.
