  1. The I-Only-Liked-Them-When-Max-Was-High Fans: S/T - "Too mainstream. Too overproduced." Anarchy - "Too soft. Too underproduced." Hebrews - "Too weird. Too overproduced." IDTII - "Too hard. Too underproduced." ...Maybe Max just has eclectic tastes and likes putting out records that experiment with different vibes? Nahhhh.
  2. Glassnote is a solid 180g. I've only gotten around to spinning it once and I wasn't blown away by the quality, but it seemed decent enough.
  3. Looking specifically for the variant that turned out to be orange in clear. This was from the first pressing of the 10" box set. I'd also really prefer the bonus 7" to be included, but if you don't have it and you still want to sell, hit me up anyway. Not looking for eBay prices here. I originally had a pre-order in for one of these and then when it released they informed me they accidentally oversold, so I'm just looking for as close to original cost as possible since I'm not some crazy collector. If you have another variant (just of the 10" box set) you really want to get off your hands, hit me up anyway. I can do another variant for the right price. Got what I was looking for, thanks everybody!
  4. I agree, but at the same time I know those songs were all produced pretty lo-fi, so the quality certainly wouldn't be there. But I'd still buy it for the general vinyl experience. Also because I'm a sucker and need every SA release. Also it would be awesome to have By Tonight on vinyl for... reasons...
  5. Jumped on the EVR pre-order to get the instant download and honestly kind of assumed it was the only variant. I'm also curious if the download card with the 4 bonus tracks is an EVR exclusive or if that's going in every jacket. Either way, I don't mind giving Max & co. my hard earned $20 for a variant that fits the artwork and album well enough.
  6. This is fucking awesome. First song is rough in a lot of ways, but it's back to Max's DIY roots. Second track, though. Fucking A+
  7. PM me for Daughter's "Not to Disappear" This album is way too good to go to a lurker. Taken.
  8. $65 for an amphitheater show, not feeling it. Super bummed. Would have paid that for general admission, but amphitheaters are bullshit for rock & roll. I guess my chances of ever seeing MM in a club are slim, so that's depressing.
  9. This album is incredible. My LP is supposed to be in today; really, really looking forward to hearing it on wax. Such a soundscape to this record.
  10. That's great to hear! Glad this seemed to have worked out for them.
  11. I just got a shipping notification from mewithoutYou.com, so... maybe the C/D record is coming? No idea what else it would be.
  12. I'm actually really glad that red isn't transparent. May pick this up.
  13. Music Hall MMF 2.2 here. IGD is so very real. How did this happen on a 40-minute record? Ridiculous. Listening to Freddy Mercury doesn't bother me as much because it's not a musical standout for me on the album, but Win Win hurts. If quality had been on par with the outer tracks throughout, it would have been a passable release (not great, but okay), but this is really disappointing. Glad I didn't end up paying full price.
  14. ...Damn, I should've complained. Got my notification too though.
  15. Not sure if this is still valid, but... Explosions in the Sky "The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place" TRR061LP.6QLHRAZ
  16. Just spun my copy, sounds great. Gave me a new appreciation for Deathless, it translated super well to vinyl.
  17. I just snagged a copy for $16 shipped from Hastings. It may have been the only/last copy, but just in case, here's the link.
  18. My problem with white is it's fucking boring looking. I get what they tried to do with this artwork, but I'm not at all wowed by the mock-ups. Who knows, it may work in hand. But give me a teal pressing of TOCS with the 2005 special edition artwork and a sea blue pressing of DtGL with the digipack artwork if you're going to do colored. Or just put the effort into making it an audiophile release, forget the colors and whatnot, and give them all to me on 45 RPM 180g black and I'd be even happier. I'm just not sure I get this whole re-imagining the aesthetics of an established album thing. I don't know if you guys think this way like me, but these were never "white" albums to me. The reasons certain albums have iconic, fitting artwork is because the visuals are based on the vibe of the music. When you combine two sonically different albums into a new, matching minimalist visual aesthetic you're totally breaking with the established vibe of the music and it's just not going to feel right. It's no longer a cohesive piece of art, at least not how I see albums. Did I totally get off on a rabbit trail? Yes, yes I did. Do I stand by these thoughts? Yeah, I think so. This is what bothers me about so many vinyl releases that don't seem visually thought out. And for some reason I am sharing this opinion on the internet. Rabble rabble rabble.
