  1. Dying to see the rainbow so I can know if I need to pick up a blue splatter instead. Also if the standard packaging is A+ I'm stoked to see the deluxe.
  2. Yeah, pretty sure this is going to sound mindblowing.
  3. Jumped on this as soon as I saw the email... then I got to the product page and felt entirely overwhelmed. Ended up passing on the 7" because I'm usually not a fan of remixes (though the Lights & Shapes remix is 10/10) and I figure since it's /1000 I can pick it up later if I end up enjoying the tracks. The LP variants were so overwhelming though. Normally white is totally off my radar, but who can pass up a screen printed cover for an album with such seminal aesthetics? Disappointed to hear it's not literally a screen print version of the original artwork (blue, green, black, white, that would be amazing), but super stoked to see how it turns out. If it does in fact make the white vinyl worth it, I'll probably keep that variant, but I grabbed the coke splatter as my main variant. Considered getting the clear splatter since it was /300 and sounds awesome too, but I have a soft spot for cokebottle and am getting a little weary of clear records. Hope I made the right call on all this.
  4. Shit, that's so tempting to double-dip on. This is still one of the best-sounding LPs in my collection.
  5. Damn that looks nice. Though, is anyone else a little bummed that with all the variants there isn't a single marble? Marble vinyl used to be this band's "thing", kinda sad to see it go.
  6. Just pulled out my first press to compare the artwork. For looking very similar, they definitely made a number of changes. It's one of my favorite covers, I think I'll appreciate having both versions.
  7. Shit, just got this email from Doghouse: "The shipping notification you recently received was sent in error. Unfortunately, we ran out of the color-in-color box sets, therefore we were unable to fulfill your order. I can send you the OPAQUE PURPLE (PACKAGE 5) set as a replacement." I feel like a douche but... I really don't care to have the purple variant. I already have both oxblood and oxblood splatter 2x12" pressings, so purple hardly sounds like an appealing addition. Those who have the box set, is it really worth getting even if I'd be unhappy with the color?
  8. So so so so stoked now. I know TSR will knock this out of the park.
  9. Whoa... looks like I may have grabbed the one of, if not the last color-in-color the other day. Glad I didn't wait any longer on it. That being said, if this thing gets here and doesn't blow me away, I may be looking to sell it at cost, cause $67 shipped is the most I've ever paid for a record and I'm feeling a liiiiiitle guilty...
  10. Wat wat wat. Need this if it's for real. Hope there's another transparent green variant. I love my transparent blue but the skips bum me out so hard. Hell, I'd take 180g black just for quality's sake though. Such a gorgeous piece of music.
  11. Here's my attempt, though admittedly it's hard to capture in a photo. It's a nice deep blue with a bit of a green tint. "Sea blue" is really a pretty accurate description. http://i61.tinypic.com/2nggdw9.jpg
  12. I started really noticing this on my third listen through. When you have the best drummer in the genre I have no clue why they would give him such a backseat on this record. There's no "holy crap" moment for Greiner that I've come across on this record. Just feels like he's constantly going hard, fast, and simple 90% of the time there's vocals. But I could be overreacting, I need to listen more in depth. Merchnow email download is WAV. I appreciate lossless, but I'm kind of confused as to why they would offer 192s and then lossless. I'll probably just end up making 320s from the WAVs but I always feel a little wary that Audition is crushing them when I do that.
  13. I agree that the m&m job did not work at all, but trust me when I say that the vinyl pressing is a whole new world of awful.
  14. Got my sea blue yesterday. Haven't gotten a chance to spin it yet, but it's a great color (I was worried it'd be standard electric blue but it's not). Though that oxblood looks nice with the artwork too. Unfortunately the jacket leaves a little to be desired. Feels a bit flimsy and overall it's nowhere close to the quality of the Rescue & Restore packaging.
  15. Letlive.'s The Blackest Beautiful is a garbage pressing all around. Flimsiest piece of vinyl I've ever seen and it's basically unlistenable. Shrill and distorted.
  16. That color in color actually looks great. Will wait on reports of audio quality, though. Wary of my experiences with iffy sounding mixed-color vinyl. Also do we know if they're 45 RPM? Also really a nice touch that the 7"s are matching colors.
  17. Foxing's "The Albatross" atozmedia.com/soundcard BHAV6F87
  18. I felt similarly about the semi lack of standout tracks after my first listen, but I've now listened around 20 times (oops) and I have to say that pretty much every track has at least some part to it that I don't think I could go through life never hearing again. So frickin good.
  19. New one is just like D/G except with orange pages.
  20. Got this in today. I finally feel at peace with the world. Lyric books are sweet too.
