  1. Never got any shipping confirmation, but my blue copy appeared in my mailbox today! Color is definitely not what I expected, but still pretty cool. Will post a picture and take it for a spin later tonight.
  2. Got my copy in and I have to say the blue looks even better in person. Will be spinning it and the new 7" version of Try To Remember, Forget later tonight!
  3. Really not what I was expecting for the color, but I dig it! Don't have a smoky blue yet.
  4. I also really like the S/T (though it was definitely a grower). Honestly I don't think there's any need to pre-order the standard LP. I'm sure there will be plenty of copies available with much cheaper shipping closer to the release date.
  5. Okay, I'm incredibly excited about this album, but seriously, this is the band with the least authority to set a pre-order without attaching a song. It's been 4 years since the last album, and it was a pretty big departure from their previous stuff. I would've thought Matador would've been smarter than this. Also not crazy about the artwork, but it's not terrible and at least it's not as bad as the S/T cover.
  6. Broke down and listened to the Spotify stream. I actually really dig the album. Sure, there's a couple of cheesy parts, and the first half of The Shape of Love to Come is just not good. But overall it's another solid addition to the discography and I think I like it better than Anarchy. Looking forward to hearing it on vinyl, I do think it's going to do nicely on wax.
  7. Ahhh screw you guys and your advanced copies. I'm dying here and there's still a week left...
  8. Damn that song is good! I would not be opposed to a vinyl-exclusive alternate cover, though.
  9. I would definitely agree with that, I do think he could've made it more interesting with a good acoustic riff. Yep.
  10. Not sure what's up with the hate on these songs lately. I thought the title track was the best thing Max has done in quite a while. Lost My Touch is certainly a neurotic little tune, but I like it. Definitely wouldn't have picked it as a pre-release song, but I wouldn't see it being out of place on In Defense.
  11. Looking forward to this! Love that they're going out with Listener... bummed for myself because I won't be able to make the Columbia date, but stoked for everyone else to see these guys together.
  12. Definitely did not see that coming. Jump on this, guys. First pressing was a fantastic pressing.
  13. I have to wonder if the vocals on Branenberg Stomp actually sound normal at 33 RPM.
  14. Got my yellow copy like a week or so ago and just now got around to taking a picture. Pretty fantastic looking. I was expecting the typical transparent yellow/gold color, but was pleasantly surprised with a barely translucent soft yellow color that I've never seen before. Sounds great, too!
  15. Saw them in 2012 and I thought they put on a hell of a show. Maybe it was just a really good night for them or something, but I was with a few people and we all thought it was a fantastic show. On another note, I just got around to pre-ordering. Got my 320kbps download of Six Six Six and I have to say I think it will sound really nice on vinyl.
  16. Wow, really glad I already have a first press or I would be so bummed right now. That green and white is beautiful.
  17. Good to know, thanks! I was halfway considering holding out to see if there was a more interesting variant, but that settles me on the blue. I get the artwork connection with the beige, but uh... that sounds like the most boring variant ever. Now, if it was beige with blue and maroon splatter, I'd buy the hell out of that.
  18. New song, Judas Decapitation. Interesting. Definitely has its moments. Also some good old fashioned scathing Bemis lyrics.
  19. Just got shipping confirmation on my yellow copy! Still really curious about how the splatter turned out if anybody wants to post pictures.
  20. Wow, just got an email with a week-early download of the album plus bonus songs. Stand up label.
  21. Is anybody else super impressed with the bass work on this album? Just ordered the yellow version along with a Bright Whites 7", pretty pumped about both.
  22. I guess they were tired of this album selling out so often so they decided to go for a variant they could keep in stock for a long time.
  23. Oh man, somehow I didn't hear anything about this until just now! Loving that single, about to listen to the full stream. My copy of "Manchester" is probably my favorite 7" I own so I am definitely predisposed to picking this up on vinyl.
  24. I've been thinking a lot lately about how much I'd love to have a pressing of Carter Burwell's "In Bruges" OST. It's one of the most beautiful and evocative soundtracks I've ever heard and I think it'd sound fantastic and especially haunting on vinyl.
