  1. Wait, how do you know this? They don't send out the download for another week, do they?
  2. Interested to see how this turns out. I contributed last year and should have a record showing up in the next couple of weeks. Hoping I dig it as much as their last album (would love to have that on wax)... wasn't 100% pleased with their preview EP, but we'll just have to see.
  3. Three months? Holy hell. This better be good. And vol. 2 better come out like a week later.
  4. Average of $16.30 per LP. Was expecting more like $15 so that's kind of a bummer.
  5. http://www.spacelab9.com/ Though now I just went there again and it's stripped down to basic Wordpress... yikes. Let's hope they're better at pressing vinyl than having a website.
  6. Space Lab 9's site actually has some activity, so that's a good sign. Looks like they're testing a store plugin. So I guess we'll find out in 2 days if the release is on time, but at least it does look like they're still around. I was getting kinda worried there for a bit.
  7. Will definitely consider getting this, but damn, that price tag. Also, that cover is kind of a letdown, they could have done much better. There are some brilliant Mad Men promo photos.
  8. I enjoyed a couple of the songs from the EP but wasn't super crazy about it. Everything Chris does is kinda hit or miss to me. Excited that this is getting a vinyl treatment, but probably gonna hold off til we hear some of the other songs.
  9. Didn't intend to get the picture disc version, but my girlfriend ended up surprising me with it for Christmas. Still curious about the standard release, but it's nice to at least have one copy either way. Only had the chance to listen to it once so far, but it's definitely the best quality sound I've heard from a picture disc (in my limited experience with them).
  10. Manchester - Kishi Bashi Or maybe Set The Fire To The Third Bar - Snow Patrol if only for the artwork.
  11. I can see that. I hadn't thought about it, but I bet that barrel scene did look great in HFR. The one thing I did really like when I saw the first one in HFR was the movement of the water, but there was so little of it in that movie. May have to see if I can see this one again in 48 and see how it looks.
  12. This is kinda like the Black Keys version of The Chariot. I dig it. Gonna wait a bit on that 7" and hope it doesn't disappear before I can scrounge up some cash.
  13. Saw it yesterday and definitely preferred it to An Unexpected Journey. Smaug was great and the spider scene was just fantastic. I also felt like the non-Hobbit material felt more organic in this movie, too. There were a few times when the CGI was distracting, but not nearly as bad as the last film, so that was nice. Also, I thought the cliffhanger was perfect. I saw this one in normal frame rate and all since I watched the first one in 48 FPS 3D and was not a fan.
  14. Dammit. There's a 98% chance I won't have the money for this, and it'll sell out extremely quickly and then it'll be $50+ to find elsewhere. I don't think my Mae collection will ever get off the ground. That being said, I am thankful that they're completing the T&N Mae trilogy.
  15. I've been working with multi rotors for about 8 months in the context of aerial video. Obviously the ones I work with are remote controlled rather than autonomous, so there's the added factor of user error, but these things are pretty serious. Amazon's going to need to get some military-grade software to make sure these things don't get into some big trouble. Trees, buildings, power lines, birds, douchebags throwing/shooting stuff, battery failure, component failure. Then you get into the landing issues and you have to deal with a lot of other stuff, but most notably the fact that so many people are going to be dumbasses and try to approach the craft while it's landing. I think the idea is nice in theory, but it's got so many aspects that can go horribly wrong. Honestly, as much as I love Amazon and the innovation they pioneer, I've really been hoping multi rotors would stay on the down low. This move by Amazon is going to increase the stakes on the upcoming FAA decision, and it could cause a lot of trouble. Plus a lot of people are very ignorant about "drones" (if I could erase that word from common usage, I would) and this may cause even more backlash. But I guess we'll just find out.
  16. While I agree that it's not on the same level as their previous work, it's definitely a grower and it's definitely a moody piece. If you can dig the feel of it, I recommend picking it up. I can vouch that the blue starburst is a really great pressing with a lot of care put into it and the packaging. For the SRC price, it's worth looking into if you enjoy their other stuff.
  17. Wow, halftime, you seem like you have the perfect personality to be a rapper. Not like a good rapper, just one who has a bunch of feuds and uses autotune a lot. Anyway, been wanting to pick one of these up for a now-playing for quite some time now. Cool to hear they're expanding. Don't need the euro-sized one, though, so I'll probably just stick with picking up one of the current ones when I get some spare dough.
  18. Hooray! My heart is no longer broken! That being said, I swear, if the colored vinyl ends up being red or electric blue or some shit, I am going to be so pissed.
  19. Was at the Atlanta show last night. They really treated it like a final show, so that was great. To The Wind killed it, they were my favorite opener. Lead guitarist was a super cool dude, too. All the Chariot guys were super emotional and I can't blame them. They put on a great show and stuck around afterwards to talk to people, which is always a cool move in my book. I've managed to talk to each of the guys before at the other shows I've been to, so I opted to just talk to Steven since he was the easiest to get to. Such an incredibly great dude. He was crying and everybody was hugging on him and it just felt like a family in there. He took a couple minutes to talk to me and said some of the most meaningful things I've ever heard come from a guy from a band. The Chariot are seriously the best guys. I wish them success in whatever is next in their lives.
  20. Would love a report on sound quality when anybody gets a chance to comment.
