Out of Breath Records got a reaction from ok. in The RSD Effect
Assuming this is a stab at independent labels who don't agree with the problems RSD causes? Quit being a prick, you're acting as if you've never complained or been bummed out by anything before, get off your high horse mr. "need to experience real problems". If you can't empathize with the problem than you have no place to make opinions about it. But again, people on the internet know everything about nothing.

It's as if I'm doing something wrong by addressing a case of major labels screwing smaller labels and musicians with RSD. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's because you're being an entitled prick.
Who cares as long as your records get to you? I've waited 3 months for a record before. And I've actually been waiting 11 months for one as of now, sure at that point it's completely ridiculous, especially without word from the label, but waiting 2 weeks is not by any means a long amount of time.

I wonder if your business model isn't failing because you come off as an overly whiny, entitled, tempramental butthole? Just own up to not knowing what the fuck you're doing and stop complaining about "big business" running smaller labels out. It's called adapting... change, or get the fuck out of the game.
And to anyone complaining about RSD and still buying things... YOU ARE THE REASON THERE IS A PROBLEM. Not Asian Man, not No Idea... whatever, this board blows. I swear I haven't been able to click on a title without reading incessant bitching. Did that other board go away?

I'm glad you find it humorous, but it's a big problem for small labels. Are we supposed to only start hyping/releasing records in the 4 off months that pressing won't have a 1/3 of a year turnaround? We try to put out records as soon as they're finished. Do you suggest we force musicians to wait to release their music 4 months after it's done just to get that time period to coincide with the record release? I know it's cool to be an asshole on the internet. Props to you! Hope you get all the internet cool guy points.

If only there were some way to anticipate when RSD will strike next.

To give you an idea of how much RSD fucks it up for smaller labels, the average turn around time was around 2 months or so from start to finish, from ordering tests to receiving records. I place in order in Decemeber, and that time is doubled. Hopefully I should receive my records sometime this month, but 4 months waiting period, where you have no product coming in to sell, and you obviously can't have preorders up that early because people feel extremely entitled with Amazon Prime and shit will email you the next day wondering where their record is. Basically you're in a stagnation zone if you're not getting records in every couple of months while waiting for the next releases. This costs a LOT of money.

The whole point is was to revive and support local record stores. Go in more than 1 day a year instead, don't let WMG/UNIVERSAL tell you to go in to go buy their Ghostbusters glow in the dark crap. Major labels pressing a 12" picture disc single of some U2 song limited to 1000 copies fucks over smaller bands and smaller labels (where all the good music is anyways).
Vinyl costs a lot of money, plus it's the dude's living. Asian Man is by no means a major label, very much DIY at heart still. Vinyl has lived on throughout the years due to independent artist/label support, where there is a demand, supply follows. I understand the motive behind majors cashing in on the vinyl craze, but the amount to which they saturate the market and slow down pressing is ridiculous.
Pirates Press (don't recommend them at all for outsourcing foreign workers) recently funded a new press to be built. But the fact is most plants are using ancient equipment that would be REALLY REALLY expensive to design and manufacture new from scratch presses. There is a finite number of old presses in the world.
