  1. It's really tough for me at this point to pick between Ruminations and Salutations after a few listens this past week. The tracks from Salutations that were on Ruminations have a whole new layer that makes them almost new songs, but I'm all about the 'rawness' of Ruminations.
  2. Agreed - I really enjoyed the rawness of this first LP, this is def in a different direction. Not necessarily bad, just different.
  3. Album is streaming on NPR; http://www.npr.org/2017/03/09/519083661/first-listen-conor-oberst-salutations . Really enjoying it so far!
  4. Stoked for this release! Will prolly pass on the preorder, but the print is pretty sweet. Also, excited that they're hitting up my favorite venue in Philly AND with Animal Collective no less. Day = made
  5. Since I missed out on the autographed print last time, might have to suck it up and PO this!
  6. Bit the bullet and preordered the purple - for 20 bucks shipped, really can't go wrong. Plus, both new tracks sound great!
  7. Jesus the print sold out already?! Will probably still preorder though, big Oberst fan!
  8. Big fan of this album - will be the perfect soundtrack for some beach chillin'
  9. A few tracks have been released so far from this and they are pretty good - recommended if you're into AHJ's past work. Webstore also has a few different packages left for preorder, including one with a nice signed screen print: http://kingsroadmerch.com/vagrant/view/bundle.asp?id=1338&cid=1530 Shipping for the bundle with the screen print is a little rough, but it does look tempting.....
  10. Really digging this release - big fan of both bands/projects. Might have to pick this up!
  11. I ordered from the webstore back in early March and still haven't received it - any one else in the same boat?
  12. Picked this up at my local shop today on Black - this album is fantastic. Haunting, beautiful, happy, and sad - all sorts of feels. Sufjan is a god.
  13. hah this album is all over the place review wise. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground per se, everyone either really digs it or really dislikes it. I gotta respectfully disagree with the popmatters review though - seems a bit harsh. I don't think this is their best record, but imo it's better than Codes and Keys while still capturing a sound I think they were trying to accomplish on that record. Like everyone has said - the middle/back end of the album is quite different from the beginning, but after listening through a few times, I'm really starting to enjoy it. The couplet of "You've Haunted Me All My Life" with "Hold No Guns" is an interesting but refreshing choice, and really breaks up the listening experience for me (in a good way). I also really enjoy "Ingenue" and "Binary Sea" - if anything, "El Dorado" seems to be the only track that I didn't enjoy too much (but that may change after more repeated listens)
  14. Definitely agree with the Narrow Stairs comment - I've only listened to this twice thus far, and while it's better than Codes and Keys imo it still isn't hitting me as hard as Narrow Stairs did. Then again, I'm not really the biggest fan of Plans either so who knows - curious to see if it grows for me. I have hope!
  15. Stream is up now over at NPR - http://www.npr.org/2015/03/22/393583853/first-listen-death-cab-for-cutie-kintsugi#playlist Just starting to dive in - so far so good. . .
  16. This album is so good! - gonna stop by my local shop to see if they have a copy. It's not just exclusive to the Webstore right?
  17. Finally bit the bullet and ordered the other day. Not sure if I'm sold on Little Wanderer yet - although I think in the context of the album I'll become more of a fan of it. Also - I ordered from the webstore, not knowing there were cheaper options for shipping?! Oh well...
  18. I agree - Although I'm a fan of all of his work, I think this LP should be great with that full band aspect. Adds a new element to his work that we really haven't seen before.
  19. New song + tour announced today. Sounds pretty good! http://pitchfork.com/news/58596-the-tallest-man-on-earth-shares-sagres-announces-full-band-tour/
  20. Jealous! Enjoy the show - I saw him on a solo tour in Fall 2012 and it was awesome. Played a few deep cuts from Death Cab's catalog too, which was epiccc.
  21. Just released a second song from the album today - 'No Room in Frame' - I think this was one of the songs they played live a few weeks ago. Sounds pretty good - digging the different direction they are heading in. http://www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/death-cab-for-cutie-unveil-new-song-no-room-in-frame-world-premiere
  22. Definitely digging the new track Fool for Love. Kind of forgot about these guys for awhile - I'll have to revisit Lonesome Dreams and get more into it
