I have ZERO problem waiting if I knew it was actually on the way. My tracking still just says "Pre-shipment: Label Created". I can understand if the Pasadena Post Office missed the first scan, but Bell Gardens and/or any other stop in between hasnt scanned it either. I have CF promising me it shipped, but I have zero evidence of that being the case, at all.

Yeah, this is really cool. I didn't see an option (on my phone) but did anyone see an option to upload images?

Ryam Adams - PAX AM Records
Chuck Shivers replied to timsimmons's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I loathe Firebrand too, but I always talk myself into using them because I never know if the next single will be as hard to obtain as 1984 turned out to be. -
Plain Recordings pays a pressing plant and mastering facility to get the job done. It's not like they have their own equipment and are manufacturing everything on their own. Shouldn't the pressing plant and the person that cuts the lacquer be held accountable? I do admit that if the reference lacquer sounds like shit, then maybe they shouldn't 'OK' the project.

I think the originals have a glossy cover and the boots have a matte cover. -

I've had Amazon deliver empty vinyl boxes to me on three separate occasions. Two of them were back to back orders. Amazon are HANDS DOWN the worst place to order limited vinyl. -

UGH. My dumb ass is just now grasping the fact that this is a two track 12", with one of the tracks being a remix no less. This will teach me to look before I leap. I totally thought this was going to be a LP.

Ryam Adams - PAX AM Records

No, you're right, that's impossible to justify. If Firebrand keeps it up, maybe they can close up shop like Insound and their ripoff shipping charges. -

Making a profit off of shipping and handling fires me up each and every time. $5.50 for media mail is straight up bullshit. Not to mention Firebrand justifies this by taking free Priorty shipping supplies from the USPS and then hot gluing the singles between two pieces of cardboard. God I hate Firebrand. Rant over. Thank you, I feel better now. -
Need receiver advice.

Thank you. -
Hi guys, I have inherited a Pioneer VSX-815 receiver. The receiver is designed for home theatre use but I was wondering if it could be used with my Pro-Ject Debut III turntable? The receiver does not have a phono input. Would I be wasting my time trying to hook this up? http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pio/pe/images/portal/cit_11221/218219103VSX915OperatingInstructions.pdf Thank you.

Your favorite-sounding record?
Chuck Shivers replied to Gumbo72203's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
The mastering of the original actate that makes the stampers that press the grooves into the vinyl is going to be the biggest factor of the finished copies sound. The second would be what copy you get in the run. What I mean by that is, stampers only get about 1000 records made before the stampers are beat to shit and new stampers need to be made. If you get a record that was early in the run, from a fresh stamper, it's going to sound better than a record that was pressed from a stamper that has been through hundreds of pressings. I love my Petty album because it's extremly quitet. The sound of vocals and instruments are extremly bright and fresh.
