I streamed Piñata on Spotify last week and immediately ordered the Best Buy CD version with bonus tracks. I've been meaning to order it on vinyl and figured I'd pick up everything else while I was at it. The album is very good.

Holy crap.
I think I saw this record on SlyVinyl one day and I was half asleep when I woke up and impulse bought it based on the album art. It just came in and I'm listening... the sound quality is incredible, the jacket is nice and thick, and the music RULES. I *highly* recommend adding this to your collection. And, to my surprise, it's machine numbered on the back! Currently rocking #34

Here's some good stuff by Julius Watkins on Blue Note. I've always wanted to pick up Vol. 1 and 2. I think they were originally on 10"?

EDIT: Can someone tell me how to get a video to show up in the post? I use to be able to do it.

THE DOORS STRIKE "GOLD" AGAIN
FOR RECORD STORE DAY
The Legendary Band Reissues Its Rare 1972 Compilation
Weird Scenes Inside The Gold Mine As A Limited Edition Double-LP Set
On Translucent Amber Swirled Vinyl
Available Exclusively At Participating Independent Record Stores On April 19
LOS ANGELES - For Record Store Day 2014, The Doors dug deep into the band's legendary past to uncover WEIRD SCENES INSIDE THE GOLD MINE. Originally released in 1972 and long out-of-print, this gold-certified double album was the first compilation to be released after Jim Morrison's death in 1971.
WEIRD SCENES INSIDE THE GOLD MINE will be available on April 19 as a limited edition double-LP set exclusively at select independent music retailers for a suggested list price of $27.98. Beautiful and rare in equal measure, production of this translucent amber swirled vinyl set is limited to 5,500 numbered copies worldwide. For a list of participating stores, please visit www.recordstoreday.com.
The 22 songs that appear on the collection provide a wide-ranging introduction to the music recorded between 1967-71 by the original quartet, John Densmore, Robby Krieger, Ray Manzarek and Jim Morrison. The band's longtime engineer Bruce Botnick remastered the music heard on this reissue, which takes its title from a lyric in "The End."
Mixing familiar cuts and deep tracks from six studio albums, WEIRD SCENES INSIDE THE GOLD MINE touches on everything from hits like "Break On Through" and "Love Her Madly" to unexpected delights like "The Spy" from Morrison Hotel and "Running Blue" from The Soft Parade.
Adding yet another dimension to the album's track list is the inclusion of two stellar b-sides: "Who Scared You" which appeared in March 1969 as the flipside to "Wishful Sinful," and a cover of Willie Dixon's "(You Need Meat) Don't Go No Further" which was paired with the smash "Love Her Madly" in 1971.
Rhino will release the collection on CD for the very first time as a double-disc set on May 20 for a suggested list price of $19.98.

I placed a second, much smaller, order tonight.
Blue October - Any Man In America
Blue October - Sway
R.L. Burnside - Wish I Was In Heaven Sitting Down
Touché Amoré - Parting The Sea Between Brightness And Me
The two Blue October records are for a customer of mine. I work at a bank and this kid is always going on about them. I mentioned they were coming to Sacramento next week and he was of course way ahead of me. I doubt he has a turntable, but I'm sure he'll love the records nonetheless. Heck, this may even nudge him into the hobby.

Blaine got a reaction from yocaseycasey in $5 for anything at Thunderbeard Records today/tomorrow
Thanks for the heads up! I already had a copy of the Hot Rod Circuit record, but I picked up a second one because I like the transparent sky blue it's pressed on. I grabbed a copy of each of the five records/tapes they still had on sale. You can't go wrong for these prices, $29 shipped.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one to snag every reissue, though I picked up Rancid on red at Hot Topic before I ordered from KRM. I've yet to get a shipping confirmation, but it's totally cool. I'm stoked people's orders are beginning to show up. I'll get mine sooner or later, and the wait will be worth it.
