We are EXTREMELY EXCITED to announce that Louisville, KY trio White Reaper has officially joined the Polyvinyl family! Their self-titled debut EP will be released 6/24 on CD, LP (180-gram clear pink vinyl), tape, and digital formats. Pre-orders are up now right here.

The band – formed by Tony Esposito (vocals/guitar) and twin brothers Nick (drums) and Sam Wilkerson (bass) -- combines sparkling hooks and fluid, fluttering rhythms to create psychedelia-tinged garage punk that make heads bob without sacrificing an ounce of sonic bite.

See for yourself with the first single, "Half Bad," which made its debut on Pitchfork yesterday. One listen to this and I guarantee it won't leave your head for a week...probably longer!

Actually, I don't understand the whole cassette revival thing at all.
Not that this has ever been a convenient, audiophile or durable format or subject to any artistic packaging or anything...

Proper release? They didn't do a good enough job for ya? I'd take a band/self-released record over anything else.

I really love the photos in the booklet and the sleeves. The shirt is also really  comfy. Super pleased with this re-issue.

Theres a clear difference between selling an exclusive variant and undercutting a label even announcing a product before peddling the unlimited variant as something limited. This wasn't even announced yet when they put it up for preorder and there have been label owners on this very board say it's shitty of them (in a less blunt way of course)

Exciting news! Pre-orders for Stagnant Pools' new album, Geist, are up now on our E-store. The album will be released 6/10 on CD, LP (clear vinyl), cassette (blue tape), and digital formats.

Following the release of their debut full-length Temporary Room in the fall of 2012, Stagnant Poolsembarked on several high profile tours supporting the likes of David Bazan, Maximo Park, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Japandroids and more.

 

All that time spent on the road exposed brothers Bryan (guitar/vocals) and Douglass Enas (drums) to a world outside their Indiana-based upbringing and introduced them to a slew of like-minded people. The experience of playing so many shows also gave the sibling duo a fresh perspective on their strengths and weaknesses as a band, feedback the pair took to heart while spending last year working on new material.

 

The result is Geist. Ten songs recorded live to tape by Matt Talbottt (Hum) that refines and expands on a shoegaze-meets-noise pop sound that has previously drawn comparisons to Joy Divison, Sonic Youth, and The Jesus and Mary Chain.

I like that they're doing this as a charity auction.  Makes me feel better about spending dumb amounts of money on something if I know it's going to a good cause or helping out a label I believe in.

Charity? 10%? And why not just give money , why tell us? If you really want to do charity , you give money for a good cause and don't talk about it!
