he sent me an e-mail about the Matt Skiba Signature GPC guitar i posted about, claiming he had one for sale. gave me a price, and told me he wanted me to send him that amount in Amazon gift cards. i told him that i didn't feel comfortable with that since we were dealing with hundreds of dollars, but that i'd have been more than willing to send via paypal. i also requested pictures of the guitar he claimed to have. he claimed he didn't use paypal and refused to provide pictures. "nah, i'm good" was his exact response to that request.
 
i responded with "nice try, slick." to let him know i knew he was trying to scam me, to which he responded "Fuck you . I know who you are don't worry". so a real stand-up gentleman we're dealing with here. and a mastermind of a sleuth to play the "i know who you are" card when

2. i posted a link to my company's website
3. i posted a link to my personal facebook page
4. i include a business card with my phone number in every record, cd, and cassette i sell

Uhh cause he's pissed I called him out for ripping off so many people with that dan/mike split a few years ago. "Ohhh pay in advance and I'll say I won't ship the split until after it's too late for you to file a paypal claim. And then when i decide to just keep people's money instead of shipping I'll just say I left all the records at the post office and blame them. Even though I can't provide tracking info" yea. Way to rip off over 25 people mr "trustworthy"

And since he likes to leave out all the actual facts here's what went on: I have a skiba guitar I don't use and want to buy a guitar I can actually play out with so I offered to sell it to him. I did ask him to pay via a method other than paypal since I closed my account with paypal a few months back after they managed to compromise my bank/card info a few times. He conveniently left out the fact that I offered to trust him and ship it to him right away if he covered shipping up front and offered to let him pay the balance after the guitar was delivered.
But he decided to be a rude bastard so I did some research and found him to be a con artist who ripped people off with that split release and a few other times. Which is why I sent him a "fuck you" message. So to anyone who isn't this dude: if you want to buy one of the skiba guitars let me know.

Can we ban this guy for trying to rip people off? (I love that it's an outlook e-mail address too. Please send a gift card to my totally untraceable e-mail.)

How is outlook untraceable? It's what they give out now that's not my fault. And to dan.. I'll respond once I get home and have access to photoshop too! Didn't know making fake screenshots was a thing to do around here.
So no joke.. People want to ban me because I wouldn't sell a guitar to a guy for as cheap as he wants, because I don't have paypal, and cause I called someone else out for being a con artist? Makes total sense. Didn't realize this was North Korea when I joined.

i used to post on VC pretty regularly from 2007-2011 (hence my post count being so high for somebody who hasn't been around in like 4 years). since then, i've started a record label called Artistic Integrity Records and have put out 27 releases so far. some vinyl, some CDs, some cassettes, and some digital only. anyway, i think i'm a pretty reputable dude, and hopefully some of my old buddies can vouch for me here if anybody has any skepticism about dealing with me.
 
to answer a question i'm sure a few of you who have known me for a long time will ask: no, i'm not breaking up my collection. all of these records are doubles that i had been holding on to and i just don't want them anymore. i think they're priced pretty fairly, considering their condition and rarity. the t-shirts, i just don't care about anymore. i kept about 10-15 of the super rare ones for my personal collection, but i realized a few years ago that i'd never be able to keep up with the insane amounts of new shirts alkaline trio releases every year, and i don't really wear them anyway, so why hold on to them when other people might give them a good home? that's what i'm hoping for here. i could put all of this shit on eBay and probably make a decent amount more than selling here, but i'd rather have these things go to people who are super into them, not just the highest bidder.
